"Things to do before you die"
I would say "100 things to do before you die" but i suspect that might be a bit ambitious.
Anyways i want GD to suggest things that would definately give you a cool story to tell.
Things like climbing Everest / going to the South Pole / hiking to the North Pole etc etc etc.
If you can please include a price for how much you (or a website dedicated to the subject) think it would cost.
Rhumsaa mentioning his "rally" got me thinking about the Paris Dakar rally however at £50k i think that's a bit out of my reach.
SUGGEST AWAY

Does this include the city as well?
Mine, sail the Atlantic single-handed.
The type of yacht I'd be looking for ( like this) will run about £50k, after refit and the preparation about 5 to 7 years.

Re: "Things to do before you die"
Well with Burt Rutan's company sending the first privately funded man into space the field of space travel is ready to explode. I watched a 60 minutes interview with Rutan about a month ago and he seems to be very optimistic that within 15-20 years it will be affordable for people to take a trip into space. I think that would be something very cool to do. Just imagine being in zero gravity and watching the earth rotating below you...

Re: "Things to do before you die"
Also as a serious reply, I might point out Austin Power's classic list from Goldmember (you might be able to identify some sort of top ten if you get a high quality freeze frame and zoom on it, dunno; it's at his party in the beginning). It had something with twins on it ;-)
And since I've just recently seen some nice female twins at uni (at least I believe they were twins), I can somehow understand where this wish comes from.

As sick as this sounds, I'd like to survive a bomb blast, I think the adrenaline rush would be awesome. (obviously I'd like noone to die in this).

Re: "Things to do before you die"
To go into space has always been the one main thing I want to do before I die.
(Which is handy as getting there may involve actual death)

I've always wanted to do a bungee jump off some high bridge (rather than a little crane). Cheaper than most of the things listed above.

Run the London Marathon
Parachute out of a plane
See a bullfight
Sleep in one of those weird Japanese hotels (the ones where it's just like a tube)
Go on a cruise

Similar but i'd have to go all round the world and not single handed. or just go back to Thiland as that was the best sailing ever.

I wish to inform fate that I have added these to my list too and that it better not kill me off before I get the chance or I'll set the lawyers on it.

I would like to ride a 'hover-board'. Of course, they need to be invented first, but they would be so cool.

Re: "Things to do before you die"
dante added perversion to the thread
so ill jump in and say sleep with two female teenage twins
but thinking about this seriously apart from get a book published which would be cool, everything else just fills me with apathy, sailing sounds romantic but being stuck on a boat for X months seems like a tedious hell, theres nothing but a big american base to see at the south pole and iirc they don't give you any hospitality lest it attract tourists or something (michael palin pole to pole) there isn't anything to really see at the north pole, aprt from polar bears i suppose which are nice, but id rather see one in a zoo where it belongs.

Be in an actual war, while it's happening, as opposed to going afterwards in a peacekeeping role.
Likely not to cost me anything.
Would also like to try working as a merc in some random country at some point.

Re: "Things to do before you die"
Threesome with two teenage goth girls.
Sleep with different kind of race/ethnic/culture/lifestyle etc. girls, each and every one of them from around the world... if it makes sense.
Publish a serious book for teenagers (so that they can take up serious reading again).
Present a Match of the Day style programme (I know I can do a better job than Alan Hansen).
EDIT: Sleep with someone famous and fit... if it'll cost me anything.

Re: "Things to do before you die"
Having a year off, with enough money so I could travel anywhere I wanted.
First off to Sweden, then Denmark, then Germany, then Russia, then Kurdistan, then Nepal, then India, then Philiphines, back to Europe, Belgium, stoping by Amsterdam, going to Scotland to see Celtic crush Rangers. Then round it off with some matches at Highbury.
And ofcourse having a hareem full of nice chicks
Then start a career as a international arms smugler, supplying arms to my comrades around the world.

Re: "Things to do before you die"
to add to mine, id certainly like to get my proper full skydiving licence and do some of those huge formation dives.
threesome with 2 teenage twins is going to have to be stolen as well
and possibly not publish a book, but just to do SOMETHING in society to effect change for the better, which could well be to write a book, is probably my number 1 goal.

Go on a cruise.
Visit Hawaii.
Learn to surf like that guy in the "Old Spice" TV advert.
Threesome with two unbelieveably attractive girls, yes!
