Monitor Problem
Ive checked the wiring and its nothing to do with that. Is my monitor dying?

Sometimes when i knock the desk or touch the casing of the monitor it turns itself off and then back on again. Even shutting a desk draw will cause it to do this.


Do i need to purchase a new one sometime soon or am i being a spastic who should check something in the pc or the monitor itself?

You say you've ruled out wiring - to what extent?
Have you checked the 3 pins in the back of the monitor and the wiring in the monitor plug to see if anything is lose?
Other than that, it's time to get a new monitor I guess. It'd probably cost you nearly half the cost of a new one to get it fixed (if it's even fixable - monitors are notoriously bad at being mended).

it gives an excuse to purchase a new one.

this only allows 60hz refresh rate

ill be blind soon if i dont up that to something more reasonable.

60Hz for more than 30 minutes gives me a headache.

I can notice 60hz on any monitor, instant eye ache. 75hz is my limit @ 1024x768.

I seriously can't look at a desktop at a refresh rate of anything below 70Hz, makes my eyes hurt within like 5 minutes. JammyJim, get a new monitor, fs.
