First thing i do in any game is turn off the music.
I only like having the sound effects playing.
I like being able to hear the sound of footsteps rather than lar-de-dar-de-dar.

Wipeout gets a special mention for starting the whole "big name bands in games" craze, even though it wasnt the first.

FF7, Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire II
most Amiga sounds and probably also most of the console RPGs sounds were kinda cool (anyone know "Rodland" for Amiga?)
C&C 1 (C&C Red Alert couldn't really follow the quality)
Rock 'n 'Roll Racing (classic 70's tunes)
I hate it when I can't limit myself on one favourite thing :/

I also had a kind of respect for the Quake soundtrack, considering Trent Reznor never got to see the game before composing the music I don't think he did too bad.

And you're the first person I've seen who's played Rock'n'Roll Racing, apart from the people I used to play it with.
