It's not nearly as annoying as people who are ****ing lazy shitbags and refuse to do some search work themselves.
Go to Google and run some searches. If you can't find anything, come back, tell us what your results with Google were, what kind of game you're looking for in the first place (Real Life, Computer Game, Boardgame, Pen 'n Paper game, Card Game) and where you've already looked around.
Your opening post as it stands is utter shit and you deserve anything you get. Go learn some goddamn netiquette before you start whining.

ill tell you what ill do, iil just Fu** off and find a forum where people arent quite so rude,
a simple request for help in a "GENERAL DISCUSSION" for a space combat game, where people might just have simmilar interests., gets knocked back with spite and anger.
why do you feel the need to do this?

You asked a question that you could have found the answer to yourself. You were pointed out to this fact. You started whining about people telling you to use Google.
Don't expect to drop into a community as a newbie, ask stupid questions, whine about the answers given and to be given a pat on the back. There are many friendly communities out there consisting of people who will welcome you with many smileys, e-hugs and all that - this just isn't one of them.
Either you accept the answers you were given, follow my instructions and may post on this forum again without people being "rude" to you and even helpful, or you can go away to another forum. It's your choice and no one here is going to lose any sleep over it.

It's funnier than one of the people being a twat got laughed at when he posted on SA. Reguardless I hear being a twat on the Internet doesn't make you half as clever as you think it does guys.
You could have included a bit more information when originally posting, what kind of game are you looking for ? A board game or a computer game ?

Re: looking for a game
in that case i apolgise, i should have phrased my question more appropriately,
however i am still of the opinion that just stating Google as a reply is a "throw away" comment,
as it is not constructive in the slightest, i accept i am new to this forum, but as an adult please credit me a modicum of intelligence, Google was the first place i looked, but i did not find what i wanted, so i posted a some what short and not fully thought out post.
also being a long standing and respected member of a forum does not give that person he right to be outright ruse and obnoxious to not just me but anyone. even if they ask stupid questions. would you

I apologise for possibly coming across too harsh. On another forum I post on there are usually two or three posts a day about something that can be found by Google instantly, or are even answered in the FAQ at the top of the forum. It tends to create a bit more aggravation towards these types of posts.

Referring people to Google simply is the shorthand version of "Go do some searching yourself first", which you should do before posting on a forum anyway.

It may be unfair, but it's frequently the way communities work. If someone is being unreasonably harsh, leave it up to the others to correct him/her - calling names yourself will not help your case.

"Hello. I am looking for a particular <type of game>, of which I cannot remember the name and unfortunately not who produced it. It is similar to Battlefleet Gothic and has a <type of setting and gameplay>.
I have tried searching on Google, but without an actual name to look for, I am having absolutely no luck finding it. I've checked for pages about <type of game> in general, but had no luck there. According to the Games' Workshop page, they did not produce it.
As I believe this is a forum where people may have interest in the same kind of thing, I'm posting this here. Does anyone know what game I am thinking of, or have any tips on where to look further?
Thanks in advance."
At worst, your post will be ignored due to people not knowing the answer. But it's infinitely better than serving as near-flamebait. At any rate, I have absolutely no idea what kind of game you are talking about or even what kind of game Battlefleet Gothic is, so I can't help you any further.

Re: looking for a game
thanks for the advise, ill keep it in mind,
in another forum which i regulary particiapte, when we get simmilar questions, Eg
my computer has crashed, ccan you help, then are simply ignored, we use to flame these peeps, but consensus was if you dont have anything nice of constructive to say,. then dont say anything at all.
this has its plus and minus points,
so i think were al both to blame he, me firstlya nd formostly for not phrasing my question properly and not provdeing enought info,
and others for flaming too qickly,
let call it quits and ill try posting in some threads again tomorrow

Re: looking for a game
Battlefleet Gothic is rather unique.
Unfortunately I dont know if you are wanting a computer game or another fleet combat wargame.
Gothic is quick and easy and most other systems arent.
Ive played Gothic, Full Thrust, Silent Death and B5 Wars and Gothic was by far the easiest and the one I found best to play. The others were ok, but abit fiddly for my liking in having to note down everything. B5 itself could take hours just for a single turn and you needed a calculator at hand just to figure out what you needed to hit. (Not that it couldnt be fun - I remember the joy in the room when my League ship crippled a Shadow cruiser - infact you just reminded me that my Vorlon ships are around a friends house still!)

Same company. Gothic is 40K in space. I thought he wanted something in space again, rather than the "big brother" so to speak.

quite correct, but your just thinking of the raw materials, what about the mould, they cost a forturne and you only get a limited number of casts before they ahve to be replace, plus the costof the devlopment of the figures, all the models that had mould made but didnt make the grade.
thats why royal dulton is so expensive, lots of castd just odnt make the grade its same technique with GW, however, one is white metal and the other is china.
looking at the raw materials is a very narrow minded way of looking at things

and the raw materials are more expensive than they used to be..
they had to change the metal due to health fears over the old lead ones and this put the price up, gutting really
