Black paedophiles

As we all know Michael Jackson is (supposed to be black). While it may no longer look like it he has Afrian Americn roots (or whatever you want to call it). I've been trying to think of other non-white celebrities who have been accused of child abuse. I can think of a few white people (Garry Glitter, Matthew Kelly etc) but I can't think of any non-white paedophiles. Is this because there haven't been any or have I just missed them?

The total amount of paedophiles is quite a lot larger than the few well-known people who have been accused of, or have actually committed, this particular crime. I would say it's relatively safe to assume that paedophilia does not make a distinction between race or colour, and is prevalent among most cultures.

As you said it yourself, you can only name a few famous people who have been involved in paedophilia. Given that the majority of our society is white, it's not really surprising that no black people are in that list yet.

Also, this post is now completely obsolete because I too, had not thought of R. Kelly. I do not think that Our Lord and Saviour was a black man though, although paedophilia was acceptable around those times.

Yes, most serial killers are white and for the same reason as we see more white paedophiles. I would like to take this further and change the focus to non-famous non-white peadophile cases. While I can recall a fair few number of cases where non-white people have been been accused being murderers (serial and singular) I can't really think of any non-white paedophiles I have seen. For example, the Sun newspaper has printed a lot of pictures of paedohpiles on its front pages several times and I can't remember any of them being non-white. Can anyone else?

I know this might seem weird to keep going on about it but it seems a disproportionate amount of white people seem to be accused of being paedophiles. A thought has just occured to me: does this have something to do with immigration? Would a (non-white) paedophile stick to a country where he is in a majority to make it easier to groom children? Why are there no female paedophiles?

So is it statistically more likely that immigrants are not going to be paedophiles? Especially considering that most cases of child abuse (like murder) are comitted by family members or friends of family and not by complete strangers.

Using The Sun as a source is a bad idea, as they will always present an extremely biased sample.

I wouldn't say paedophilia is necessarily caused by either of the two specifically.

Paedophilia is in essence nothing but the breaking of a social contract, a moral agreement on what age a person should have to be allowed to have sex. Currently, this is usually somewhere in the 16-18 range, but in many secluded and more primitive cultures, girls are married and bedded at a younger age. In ancient times, girls could also be married by the age of 12, to men in their 40's, without this having the connotation of "strange" or "sick" that such a relationship would have nowadays.

Men quite simply have a natural urge, a genetical one if you will, to spread their semen and create offspring. The age of a partner which one would find acceptable, will vary from person to person, and it is hardly surprising that there are those extremists who have exceptionally low ones, or no longer any limits at all. I don't believe this is tied to any specific form of genetics or culture, and is common among all people.

People don't automagically grow the capability to give consent during the night of their birthday from 17 to 18. Some will have it prior to that, others will not have it for a longer period of time. Whether paedophilia constitutes rape is different per case, although when the age of the victom starts dropping below 12, I would say that you are dealing with a pretty clear cut case.

My point was that there appears to be a distinct lack of reporting in the press on non-white paedophiles. I was wondering why this was. Was this a bias in the press or were there just hardly any non-white paedophiles? Considering that every other crime reported has at least a mixture of races the fact that paedophiles only seem to be white is a bit confusing. Being in a predominatly white country you would expect the majority of peadophiles to be white but there seems to be a white male monopoly on paedophilia in the press. Later on, if you had read past my original post you would have seen me pose the question of whether this is due to immigrants being less likely to be paedophiles.

So when you ask what does race have to do with it, that is the question I am asking.
