That being the people who dont actually seem to read all the threads on GD, just the ones they find popular. Now just for a reminder, this was a Kura comment from last week in response to a Stew comment about my Girlfriend. Now the above post was of course, to those who actually read the boards , intended as a parody of THIS , which is an exert from the Levis' 501 thread, which was until recently the funniest thread to hit GD in quite some time.
Now this is where id like to complain. First to the individual who placed a neg rep against me (no naming and shaming this time, youre a lucky man) with the reasoning "Inappropriate Behaviour for a Board Mod". Second , to the TWO individuals whos Raison D'etre appears to be complaining about this board WHO ACTUALLY REPORTED THIS POST FOR BREAKING THE BOARD RULES!.
Now , if enough people would like to comment here asking for those people to be publicly named and shamed, well hell, there just happens to be a handy dandy convenient poll above, and if it gets 50 votes and over 75% yes, ill name and shame the 2 individuals who dont read the boards and complain about inappropriate mod behaviour because they neither understand the concept of Irony, and have had a sense of humour bypass.

I thought the mods on this board were appointed because they understand and fit in with the general posting style and the general feel of the board - not to be some saintly do gooders who can't have a laugh with the rest of us. Maybe i'm wrong.

to negate the entire point OF this thread, one of the aforementioned complainers was me.
Mods have certain responsibilities - offensive posts such as the one Kura did - even if intended to be ironic is unbecoming of a mod.
I negrepped him to draw this to his attention , and have it as a private matter but it seems kura wants to make a big deal of it all.
Fair enough - Rather then a private remark its become a formal complaint.
There is no excuse for a mod to abuse the abilities they have, just because they can. - the poll Kura posted is an example of this.

Nope but forums admins also have certain responsibilities - such as to appoint people as mods who wont fly off the rails, or pull stunts like this and take action if they do.
That said, ive sent my msg to JJ and am perfectly content to leave it in his hands.
He's the forums admin and the buck stops there forums-wise

Partly because Kura really didn't need to draw attention to it. Partly because it isn't a big deal anyway about Kura making this thread, yet some people seem to think it is.
I thought Kura's post was amusing, actually (the parody one).
GD is a pretty relaxed place. If someone wants to complain, then let them. Nothing would have come of it, would it?

I'm the other person who reported the post, not becuase i didn't think it amusing but becuase I believed that its not the sort of thing a moderator should be posting - I assume forums rules exist for a reason. I never expected much to come off it, maybe just JJ having a quiet word. Anyway its in JJ's hands now.

It was a joke which anyone else would have gotten away with.
One of the reasons i like these boards so much is that the Mods are just like any other member (they mod with their heads and not by the 'rules' per se) and you don't get that on any of the other boards i've used
PS. I've seen much worse things posted by the Mods over the last 4 and a half years of reading GD.
