Boredom
This term I have adopted a policy of never saying "no" to anything. I dislike being the random guy at parties but my reasoning is as follows: if you don't take advantage of what's on offer, you can't really complain about being bored.
There are some minor downsides. I have lost all dreams of ever having self-respect or an interesting conversation. I'm in the novice rowing team. My course choices were determined by whoever first asked "Hey, are you doing Asymptotic Methods?" (mundane applied maths subject).
Otherwise the policy has worked quite well. Really, I'm just surprised how little things have changed. I've been lots of new places and met lots of people. I'm definitely spending a lot less time crying in my room.
Unfortunately I seem to have got myself onto the phonebook of a particularly friendly little goldfish. Invites everyone to everything but doesn't remember me at all. This was pretty cool for a while but recently she hooked up (fish pun) with someone I don't like. Yet she still invites me along to her social events... to paraphrase, "hey do you wanna come have dinner, me and my boyfriend are gonna be there and snog conspicuously!"
The problem is that I HAVE to say yes. The rules of the game state that I cannot say no. So I ended up going along, then ran away when they started snogging. Less than ideal but what can I do? Ideally I would get removed from her phonebook. I could ask her outright but I don't like to burn bridges (it's cheating the never say no rule, really). It can't be me that initiates violence. Instead I have been trying to be as creepy as possible.
"How was today?" "Pretty good, I saw a naked woman! There was a streaker in my quantum physics lecture." "Wait, you've never seen a naked woman before?" "Oh, well, there's TV, magazines, the internet, binoculars..."
But they just seem to think it's funny.  What can I do?

You could try lots of different approaches, each lasting 30 days.
Like that american "supersize me" dude, but committing social suicide rather than REAL suicide.

I want to do something conventionally memorable, not just autologged. It's a real-world game you see.
Jonny, I don't know anything about her family. I actually don't know anything about her at all except her weight (mention of which qualifies as bridge burning). I'll try asking her out or at least making a drunken pass. We rarely chat one on one but I'll try to think of some ice breaker. "Aren't grandparents great?"
I saw her earlier by the way. "Were you there last night? I remember seeing you." "No, I didn't want to stay and watch you snog your boyfriend." "Oh you should have stayed, EVERYONE was there!!" etc.
On crying: no not regularly. I'm not depressed. :crymeariver:

My philosophy + (whatever you call the bunch of social topics at your school was PSRE at ours) teacher had a (sort of) baby joke that used to make him laugh.
Two problems:
Teenage pregnancies at all time high
Third world hunger.
Solution:
Foetus burgers!
Apparently you either love it or hate it.
