This is becoming a chav forum
5 threads on football. Highly frequented.
3 on cars. One even on augmented ones. Highly frequented.
A few on playstations, phones videogames and other ´kit´. Highly frequented.
Two threads about current events, combined replies 9.
One about books containing posts with the words ´moron´, ´faggot´ and ´I hope you die´.
One about rugby with a swear word in the title.
I swear it could have been ChavForum.com.

Re: This is becoming a chav forum
I don't think chavs talk about football, cars or video games.
I think chavs talk about buckfast (ie which 'number' is the best) fit birds and which rival chav gang is going to get a doing that night. Other than that they don't talk at all (being too thick to properly construct sentences).
I think they stand on street corners with their buckfast and their Club Kingsize speaking in their nasally whiny voices about how tough they are and how they are going to kick peoples ****s in and arguing over who is the biggest 'bawbag'.
In short Chavs are scum, and therefore cannot possibly talk about things that normal people find interesting. I refuse to believe otherwise.

GD has entirely too many threads about chavs.
(I'm still not entirely sure who/what a chav is, but I'm pretty sure I don't care)

one is too many. well chav is basically the lowest common denominator. for a male chav, take a pubescent boy with a severe case of acne, insert a packet of Marborough lites, especially if under 16, put in the whitest trackstuit that you can possibly find, stick a peak cap on his head after removing the majority of his frontal lobe, and you have a chav. when they get to 17 they drive extremely bad cars but try to make them look like sports cars. Chav girls are similar except they have very very pink lipstick, large gold hoop earrings and sound like harpies.

Re: This is becoming a chav forum
I thought all chavs were worried about was:
- Where they can hang out when mcdonalds closes
- Which person they can pick on who is on their own and half their size
- Tips on keeping trainers bright white
- Special offers at [insert sports shop]
- All the gold 'soverigns(sp?)' they saw in argos
- How tough they are
- What angle to have their baseball caps at
- Why it is a good idea to tuck your trousers into your socks when not riding a push bike

Surely one of the modern mysteries? It's akin to wearing your underwear on the outside, it would look just as 'chavtastic'.

Apparently yes.
I asked this question on another forum and was told:
"Buckfast, or "Buckie" is the drink of choice for street delinquents north of the border. However it tastes more like medicine than “tonic wine”, and don't let the glass in the picture deceive you, its traditionally drunk from the bottle, which can then be used as a bludgeon/missile/chib."

Yes. Yes they do.
No they have not suffered enough. They will never suffer enough
In Scotland Buckfast is so closely linked to 'chavosity' or 'nedishness' that an MSP was trying to restrict the sale of it

I must extend my apologies.
I had an idea of this. I assumed it was a bad nasty-ass problem. In Holland I witnessed the upcoming of the Gabber scene from close and thought the UK problem must have been similar.
I had no idea how deeply grave your situation is.

its a comedy drink made by monks
I find this utterly utterly bizzare that the awful toni wine brewed by monks and traditionally bought to give to people you don't like or consumed a thimble full a day by WWI veterans should become so popular and so hated.
i am literally bowled over I'd assumed 'buckfast' meant something different in scotland and tried to make a funny.
now i'm shocked at the monks.
what next burbery habbits???

I'm not sure how close you follow the news in the Netherlands, but this gabber thing has died off a bit. Atleast where I live.
Heh, I even remember the days when people listened to "happy raver", "captain jack" and "daar is gabbertje" and thought they were hardcore. Everyone tried to be "gabber" because they thought it was cool.
The people who listen to hardcore music and a generally associated with racism are now called "Lonsdale youth", setting fire to mosques in my town and all.

I could've explained that to you. I have the whole definition on my "Favorites". Being the American that I am, I am proud to be able to define a British term.
****ING CHAVS!! I WILL STAB THEM IN THEIR GODDAMNED FOREHEADS!!

I'm trying to work out they would pronounce in Japanese. Thinking that they pronounce programmer as "purogurama". Heru... denu... or something like that...

Re: This is becoming a chav forum
Utterly and totally. I´m at the point where I don´t even look at dutch tv anymore. The food I enjoy is the spanish grub, and I speak spanish of an ´andalú´ wordtype and accent.
I do have trouble getting the odd joke where they use ´doble sentido´ (dubbelzinnig in dutch, don´t know what it is in english) but I´m improving.
I´m even alienating from holland because the news I get here (true, it´s from Telegraaf) and the dutch people that frequent this place make me want to tear up my passport and burn it.

Re: This is becoming a chav forum
"Ambiguous" according to my euroglot.
Still, what's wrong with the Dutch people? I'm surrounded by Dutch, so I might not notice the flaw as much as you do, but all seems quite dandy to me.
Apart from that it seems as if everyone is obsessed with money and paying bills, but that could just be my rebellious youth still shining through through my seemingly grown up behaviour and appearance.

Re: This is becoming a chav forum
What´s wrong with the dutch? OMFG.
Just take a chair, put it down in any train station in Holland and watch the people.
Their faces are dull and dead. No complexion. Their body language says nothing but ´my government ****ed me up the arse´. They complain about EVERYTHING and it´s always someone else´s fault. If it´s not the foreigners then it´s the government, than it´s the bloody neighbour that must be criminal because he has a car that is slightly more expensive.
The country fits three times in Andalucia (which counts for 17% of the spanish territory) and still the trains can´t be on time. It´s the fourth richest country (gross product per person) in the world yet can not seem to be able to pay hospital workers or teachers. They send about 14 commandos to afghanistan (wich should easily be 40x bigger than holland) wich would be like sending a boyscout to hell and think they are doing a good thing. The minister of finance thinks he is actually listened to when he talks to germany and france about the stabilty pact. The minister president looks like a bad harry potter clone, and also acts like one.
Then the mind of the average dutchman. The explicit ´I´m smarter than my neighbour´ stance, the copper statues in the windows, in short, the total lack of culture Holland has is starting to show. It´s really easy for me to spot the dutchman here, asas they are the only ones sitting on a table being occupied with everyhing that happens AROUND them, while the spanish for example sit on a table and are busy with the people on that table. Dutchmen are proud on their country because it sailed the seas in the 1600´s and we had a few painters then (wich actually were from other countries, but could not live there and moved to holland to escape execution).
Dutchmen are liberal, is what is said. The truth is they don´t know when to shut up (of wich I am living testament) or just don´t have the background to think differently or see the consequences of it on a larger scale. We used to be a ´country of service´ but other countries do this much better and cheaper now, as all companies in Holland suffer from ludicrous social and tax laws.
Then the country itself. Flat. Not a single tree that hasn´t been planted by someone. No living space to have your children grow in the Randstad up unless you are filthy rich. Weeks can go by without a single sun ray hitting your face. The rain is rediculous, only in summer one might have a week without rain, and if it happens, there suddenly is no water to wash cars or water the gardens.
Anyway, I´m sorry for all the dutchies on the forum here but look at it from this way, you can say ´we´re so glad we got rid of you´ and you´ll be the perfect dutchman; opinionated, preoccupied, xenophobic, and convinced Holland is better, God bless football and the ´broodje kroket´.
I´ll be here in Spain.

Re: This is becoming a chav forum
I never looked at it that way, but now I'm reading that I agree with some of your points. I guess you need that other point of view to really notice the flaws of this nation.
The lack of pride in this nation is really obvious. When it's queensday (a big nationalist holiday for you non-Dutch people) you barely see any flags waving outside or people going out having a party. They all just sit home and watch telly, or visit grandma.
Although I kind of like the Dutch commonsense. People not losing their head immediately when something happened or is going on.
What I'd like to add to your list is the lack of courage to give things up and take a risk. It's one of my own flaws too that I just can't jump ship, tell everyone to go fk themselves, and piss off to somewhere "better".
I got home yesterday and told my mum as a joke (yes, I attempt humour sometimes) that I was going to leave for Africa with Unicef to help out those poor people and she looked at me shocked and started about my job and that I can't just throw away those things and I don't know what else.
But all in all, I don't think the Netherlands is a bad place to live.

It´s not a bad place indeed. Not the best, but it´s okay. It certainly is ´Unique´.

Yeah. There are feasts here that last more than a single week.
It´s like brixton carnaval (or wtf) but then 10 days in a row...
