Incidentally...

Whether or not there's any use for it is beyond the explorers.

You'll get the diasdvantages/advantages of despotism in full when I can be bothered to put them down in writing, but I can tell you straight off that you get a slight penalty to RP, and possibly some other stuff. Fascism does not have a research point penalty.

During the course of my nefarious scheming it has been brought to my attention that a certain planet, let us call it....C. Prime. No wait thats too obvious, Centauri. P has been hiding their budgets from everyone else by ONLY doing them via PM. Now everyone else has posted them in the thread and while I may understand if certain evil despotic and fascist planets where allowed to hide their budget from public view I don't think a democracy with an A-L rating of 5 should be. People should be demanding to know where their precious taxes are being and he should be forced to publically show his budget like everyone else.

PS I know the joke at the beginning is lifted straight from the Simpsons so don't bother pointing it out.

Nor would outside viewers have the possiblity of detecting spendings on any secret projects/bases, which might interfere with security affairs.

I lied. This is taking more work than I thought, but I'll start out with my first two offenders.

Alright then, lets start with Tau Ceti Primes turn 0 budget.. First thing that’s wrong, is your private sector is off. Most peoples are, because apparently people lack the ability to use that nifty little calculator program that comes with windows. But, also, you lack the P nessisary for your 5 colonies. You’ve got 15,000 working in the industry, around 5000 or so in the government, and 5000 ish trhat should be working in the private sector. But wait. You sent out turn 0 colonies? I suppose you pulled the 5000 unemployed people out of the corperate eather?

Oh, and then theres the little fact you get no RM income during turn 0.

Now then, I’ve already discussed it with IB, and he has a similar problem with his colonies, he needs to buy some more people, but his problem is to a much lesser degree than his. Anyway, enjoy back tracking and re-working everything, I’m off to dig up more budgetary errors.

Final notes: Everone, please remember the 20% in private sector rule. Its of your total population, so when you grow, or move forces to another world, or buy P in turn 0. REDO it. Recalc it and put the right one up.

Masaki appologies to its educational department for not being able to fill its request for a college and school, but due to resource constraints, the request cannot be filled. They do promise to build the college and any new improvments that they can next year, when there will be more RM avalable. Untill then, they sugest that they visit the new atrium being constructed in the capital.

From what I've gathered, PK was roughly 3k P over what he should have been in his first turn. Thus, to make up, he gets no P growth next turn.

Going through some budget's, I've noticed that when people are colonising planets, they've neglected to remove the P from their homeworlds total Population.

When colonising a new world, you must remember to remove the P for the new colony from the total Population on the world that built the colony ship.

For those who haven't done this, fine. But from this post onwards remember to do it. Or else...

Right, I've had it...
I've had so much bitching about the number of colonies being displayed by some people here that I'm frankly fed up with it. Here's a nice, easy solution to the various things that various people have been bitching to me about:

1) You are all henceforth limitted to two colonies untill such a time as you do research further Civic techs that will allow more colonies to be built.

2) People with over the current limit will have their excess colonies dematerialised. You choose which two to keep. You get reimbursed for all the resources spent on the other colonies. The exception to this rule is PK. Because so many bloody whiners have been whining about how PK has two extra colonies he shouldn't, PK can just have the resources he actually had back again.

The next event post is going to be fun. Fun for me, but not necessarilly for you.

[rant] I don't think anyones whining about the number of colonies. I'm wining about the fact that they were illegaly obtained, and in the case of PK, amounted to a 20% RM lead in turn 0 over us because he never payed for the 5k or more people to have unemployed to send to the colonies. I mean, seriously dachi, your going to event us all because I've been watching peoples budgets and pointing out errors that the mods are supposed to catch in the first place? Now all people are going to complain about is that so and so got better colony prospects, and you ruin any advantage the fringe might have in the first place. How on earth is that going to fix anything?

Anyway, I havent even whined. I just stated, with evidence, errors. Thats all I've done. If hewitt are PK wanted 5 colonies, more power to them, let their worlds be undefended and in the throws of revolt with out proper military controll. OR not. Let them get ahead. I don't care. I do care when people make errors that are wtihing the range of 1000's of RM. I care then. A few hundred P or 20 or so RM I can stand being glossed over. But not when a person pulls a 20% advantage over everone at the start because they can't do their math... or worse. [/rant]

edit: And FYI, the only people I've seen so faqr mess up their colonies are IB and PK. And I havent audited anytone else in turn 0 and 1 because of ND's request. Now, however, I have to, as your reimbursing the supplys, meaning theres probably going to be errors that date back two turns, ect. ect. I'm not being unreasonable, I just don't like playing a game thats rigged for me to lose, because of all things, I check my math (Or am more honest, take your spin).
