OK im slihjtly drunk ...
but im rather ****ed off at my work so i've decided to inform the ****ers here that i told, via e-mail, my personnel dept and manager at work to "go **** themselves" today.
That was a paraphrase and OBVIOUSLY i wrote in a "helpful" (sarcastic) manner but still ...
My manager wants a "meeting" at 7pm tomorrow.
*shrug*

well, they may have taken your suggestions under consideration and will use them constructively to improve the whole working experience for you.
Either that or they are going to tear you a new arsehole and sack you.

Will this affect your chances at being the Passport Office's new Golden Boy?

I was going to put that he can't be the new Golden Boy ever since Yahwe 'potted his brown cue' in the last few days, but that would be vulgar.

You should tell him that he should go **** himself again, as you 1) don't do anything work related in the weekend and 2) you don't do anything work-related in the evening.
Ofcourse, telling him that might affect your chances of being a Golden Boy, whatever that is, even more.

Clearly suggesting that everyone **** off and die merits that.

Re: OK im slihjtly drunk ...
Rightio the (slightly boring) situation is thus:
I received an e-mail demanding that i forward paperwork relating to someone under my command being off sick.
The words "must" and "immediately" were in bold and underlined. Exclamation marks were used throughout. They also stated that they do their job immediately and i was ****ing up their shit (basically). I thought the message was pretty ****ing cheeky.
I was off last week and received another message in my absence.
Then another message was sent to my boss and she forwarded it on to me saying i need to action it immediately (this was sent on Tuesday and she knows i wasn't due back in work till Thrusday).
Anyways i'll paraphrase the start of my reply and then do the end word for word:
----------------------------------------
"The person who was off work ill only works part time and since she's been off (3 weeks ago) has only been in work for 4 days and of those she was told by the shift manager to go help training and so i couldnt do her back to work talk on those days"
"I didnt respond earlier as i was out of the office for the past week"
With regards to my lack of response previous to that: <Person> was either on job share or A/L when i received any previous message relating to this & i felt sending a message (e-mail) advising personnel of information they receive when i hand in the attendence sheet every day might possibly be viewed as cheeky as it would suggest that they don't actually check the records we do send them.
I would like to close by saying that i do appreciate the role personnel perform; a role they must perform under difficult circumstances as observed by the delay between A/L sheets being submitted & their return to the examiner. I also feel that their use of bold and underline to highlight certain words and the use of exclamation marks in their message to ensure that i was fully aware of the importance of the information they were conveying was excellent. Could this be an approach that the UKPS as a whole might use in letters to external customers* to ensure that we definately receive the correct documents et al we request?
....................................
My manager tonight told me that:
- sarcasm in e-mails would NOT be tolerated
- she had apologised on my behalf
- that she could understand that i might be angry with the emails i received but i should go to the evening shift room and shout about it rather than sending emails like that
- sending an email like that to just her would have been bad enough but the fact that it went to a couple of heads of departments "hadn't done me any favours"
- that no further action was going to be taken ... this was just an informal chat
*examining teams are supposed to be "internal customers" to the likes of personnel etc and as such treated like we would treat someone applying for a passport

Re: OK im slihjtly drunk ...
BTW the "welcome back to work" discussion is supposed to take place within 5 days of the person being back at work. I did the talk last night on the 5th night she was actually in the office since being off sick. All this drama cause personnel are ****ing muppets and don't actually know the rules relating to sick attendence etc.
[/boring office politics]

Re: OK im slihjtly drunk ...
It sounds like your HR department is fairly similar to most in large organisations.
That is to say, it's staffed by drones who hate their jobs, and are determined to make sure everyone else hates theirs too.

Re: OK im slihjtly drunk ...
Well sending a sarcastic email to management above you is generally going to get you in the shit, mainly because they feel you are insulting their authority. This view is cock, but what can you do?
You're in trouble (which you know), the facts and details not withstanding.
This is where you find out if you are the type of person who can put up with the bullshit and rediculousness of modern business without selling your soul or compromising your ideals.
Personally, I'm not one of those. I can't play that game for long, nor do I want to.

Re: OK im slihjtly drunk ...
Sounds like you've got an arrogant jobsworth working in your HR team. I'm direct about things so I'd ask to arrange a little chat with them, and then tell them they're a ****.
Also, for future reference, never give the ****ers any proof. Sending an email is stupid, it can be printed, they have a hardcopy, they can prove you did it.
Phone somebody up and say the same thing down the phone and unless everything you say is recorded (possible since its the passport office I guess) they cant prove you just told them they're a ****ing idiot.
