atm it appears that when you apply to an alliance you have 3 options, get accepted, get rejected, wait and wait and wait for a response

How about putting the old ability back that the original alliance hosting had where you can leave a message for prospective members telling them to go a XXXXXXX channel on irc to speak to somebody about joining the channel

to be fair, the only people who will be scared to give away co-ords are the big alliances, and they wouldnt recruit someone who applied in game anyways.
