I am the Xan in the combat report.. Why the hell did I cap roids when all my vipers were dead/frozen?? Other than that, there is a serious bug if you attack together, meaning you don´t cap what you should if one attacker doesn´t send any pods, his *share* of the roids just stays at the planet.

According to that b-rep you shouldn't have capped roids indeed. It's ofcourse stupid that you get roids the paladins capped.....

Oh so that is how it works.. capping was way off aswell, 210 roids when it should have been around 400, guess those 190 roids I would have capped on my own if the vipers wouldn´t have been killed frozen and he would have capped 210 roids. Stupid and strange bug, all pods gone and still got roids made me smile anyway

Nopes, the 210 roids are perfectly explainable.

You got 2 attackers. Max cap is 25%, roughly 300 roids. The other attacker sends way more value in his fleet, so he caps more roids, 2/3 of all capped roids (210 in this case). You should have capped the 90 remaining roids, but since your vipers were frozen, he only looses 210 roids, your cap portion gets "lost".

So 210 roids get capped, of which 2/3 goes to your wingmate, and 1/3 to you, EVEN THOUGH only your wingmate's ships capped roids. I got no idea if that is intentional or a bug...

Though they might try to claim it's a feature. :/

Plz can I exploit it? Only have to find a way out how, then PAteam can rest my roids/ships, then i can write a nice whine thread on PD.

Well it's not neccecarily (how the fck do you write that) a bug ofcourse. It might be thinking like "Hmmm they both sended ships, they both lost/could loose ships, so they should split the benefits of the attack".

No, no, no! Report bug to PATeam first, then exploit.

It's a bug because it makes no sense. It's also a bug because it never used to work this way (I can even guess that the bug was introduced when they re-added pods in 10.5 after the PAX rewrite).

You could just as well say that an attacker who sent no pods should get roids (after all, he participated in the attack too, right?). And what about the attacker who recalled at ETA-1? He didn't actually participate in the attack but maybe he helped scare off some defense--maybe he should get some roids too?

Hey I'm not saying I like it, I'm just trying to look into the twisted mind of the coders

BTW I wouldn't be THAT surprised is someone without pods would cap roids

This is perfectly according to what is said in the manual. So I guess it was intended this way.

Roid Capture
Roid capture in Round 10.5 requires you to have ships capable of capturing asteroids.
For Terrans the ships you need are Incubus's, For Cathaar you need Paladins, For Xandathrii you need some Viperidae and for Zikonians you need Scimitar.
You can only capture 'roids if you have enough ships survive the combat which can capture them.
The maximum number of 'roids you can capture is 25% , however the actual number you capture depends on the ratio of the fleet values, if there are any other attackers, and if you are capable of capturing all of the 'roids allocated.
If there are others attacking the same planet as you at the same time then the available 'roids will be divided between ALL the fleets, by fleet value, regardless of if they have ships capable of capturing asteroids or not.
If one fleet does not have enough ships to capture the 'roids then their share of the 'roids is essentially lost. They will capture as many as they can however.

so we are saying the frozen ships can still carry the roids home - just nto do the actual capping - i guess thats possible - whether its intended or not is something entirly differenet

Well that stinks imo. Although escorts will be alot less commen, since the co-attackers share of the roids won´t be capped if he sends no pods.. So basicly if you want to escort someone, you have to recall at eta 1.. Oh well, no point in complaining about it this round
