Has there been a round without...
In all the rounds that have come and gone, has there ever been one where Defending others was removed from the game?

Re: Has there been a round without...
Nope. The closest it has come to that is the current status where you cannot defend members of other alliances you are not NAPed with in game.

Thankfully not.

Re: Has there been a round without...
Would certainly cause a crazy different round, for a change. Every fleet lands, lots of capping left, right and center, no-one would be untouchable, might stir things up a bit for a change with VERY little work involved...or not..

Re: Has there been a round without...
And also make it a complete waste of time to play.
Pick three targets that you can land on - launch all fleets - wait for them to bring roids home - rinse and repeat. The winner is the one who can be bothered to do that more than everyone else.
The only fun part of this game is the social element - and the only part of the game with any significant amount of that is defence.
(Edit - OK - I can think of a few tactics to make such a game more complex but I think you get the picture).

Then everyone would have built fico to repeat attacks asap. And I'll just build de stop the fico incs and cr pods for free roiding. And then I'd win

Re: Has there been a round without...
Until a big team-up FCed your attack fleet(s) - without possibility of defence.

Assuming he is never hit himself...
Assuming his fleet will never be caught...
Assuming he won't run into someone's defenses...
Assuming noone finds better targets...
I'm just saying it might be something different to break up the repetitiveness.

Re: Has there been a round without...
You could just make it to where you can only defend in galaxy or cluster so alliances wouldn't be able to always defend everything. But then i think people would just spam exile and reset until they landed in gals with other alliance m8's so dunno if that would really work.

Re: Has there been a round without...
4 fleets, 2 for def only (1 ingal, 1 in alliance), 2 for attack only.
Or just 2 fleets, one attack, one defence

Re: Has there been a round without...
Indeed
But it would certainly give a new twist to priorities in alliances and tactically shake things up.
