Grand National
So it's the one day of the year where I bother betting on horses. Normally I follow the tactic of, I know nothing about horses so lets pick the one with the best sounding name. The only mildly interesting one for me though was Risk Assessment and my coursework put me off picking that.
So in the end I've plumped for Innox, fiver to win. Who else has had a flutter today?

Re: Grand National
Threw a fiver on Hedgehunter, another on Clan Royal and a final fiver one some arbitrary 33/1 effort

Re: Grand National
Had a punt on the spreads,
Clan Royal
Hedgehunter
and Jack High
Total outlay about £28, returns of £50, better than a kick in the nads.

Re: Grand National
I didn't bet because betting is bad for the soul.
(We were wandering around camden town trying to find a bar that wasn't full just before the race started. Took us a while to twig. One guy wouldn't even turn up but skipped work to watch it )

Re: Grand National
I got Hedgehunter in my work's sweepstakes, £10 for second place, nice return for a quid.

Re: Grand National
My uncle phoned the house yesterday and I spoke to him for about a minute:
"I've just won the national," he said.
"Oh, I didn't know you were in it," I replied, winningly.
ah, comedy.
