(15:01:54) (@Lunar_Lamp) OK, there is going to be a rollback.

Re: Fix the ****ing
There was apparently some kind of power surge which fecked a sh*tload of data, so there's no way to avoid a rollback.
Currently exploring the option of not recalling fleets - the main reason FOR recalling being consistency with past policy and the risk of people losing fleets whilst being unable to recall.
Talk through the problem guys, this wasn't an administrative error so lets not get overly hostile. Short of being part of the circuitry, there's not a lot PATeam coulda done to stop this one...

Uhh what. Rollback a tick or two changes next to nothing, recalling fleets in addition changes ALOT.

Im not blaming PA crew Im just saying that recalling fleets yet again is WRONG as it serves little to no real purpose.

And my point was that 50 people (a number we were working our way up to!) coming on the forums and shouting at the admin isn't going to make them too inclined to listen to reason.

As if they would anyway.

Re: Fix the ****ing
I get seriously annoyed at the people who refuse to see that any rollback MUST be accompanied by a full fleet recall. We have the same damned "discussion" every time it happens.
Yes there will be winners and losers from recalling fleets - but there can be NO excuse for risking players losing fleets that they believed they had safely recalled.

GJ this game is going in the shitter if the datacentre doesn't even have backup power.
I laugh at all the people who want a rollback because they're too ****ing retarded to calc and crashed their fleet. Technically it gives these people an advantage, because all the people who landed well lose their attacks - those who crashed would just be given a 2nd chance to actually recall this time.

Re: Fix the ****ing
Either cancel the ****ing round, its a huge disrespect to the people who have used time on the game twice in a short periode of time to completely delete their work. Or hey, open the game with like 10 hours untill tick and every active person in PA will have had their chance to recall. Don't even view recalling fleets again as an option.

yep, they could open the game now and start the ticker at 11 tomorrow as planned... but recalling fleets is just retarded.

Don't recall fleets, reopen the game and give 10-12 ticks before the tick. This seems sensible, why isn't it being done?
I'm a little bitter. Rollbacks have cost me 3-500 roids this round. Grr.

All fleets have been recalled.

I've taken a while to think about the situation and there is simply no good faith basis for thinking this won't happen again or that the issue behind it has been diagnosed, much less resolved. In that scenario how can I, or anyone, justify the amount of time they put into the game only to be frustrated again?

i do not see the logic behind recalling fleets as the only ones who MIGHT be injured are those who doesnt log in to recall their fleet. So let them crash then? thats their own fault and i bet they would crash if the game didnt break down aswell.

No - the ones who might be injured are those who have already recalled their fleets but then that recall is cancelled by the roll-back.
