Research Queueing

This would be a nice feature for those of us who have to work for a living and can't be at or near a computer during the workday to log in and start another research.

We can queue constructions, why not researches?

Re: Research Queueing

Because researches take from 2 to over 10 times as long to finish.

Re: Research Queueing

Point being what exactly?

If you don't have to be around to start a construction, why should you have to be around to start a research?

With only 1200 planets left in this game, you'd really think it would be made a little more user friendly.

I'd even pay extra for such a feature.

Re: Research Queueing

It would be a nice feature, but i think its too easy..

If we should have research queuing, it should be like at the last 4-5 ticks of a research you could queue a new one.. Not as soon as you start a new research..

Fair point I guess.

Re: Research Queueing

I think the current situation with researching is just about right - you can stop and start any of them.

If your current research only has 6 hours left and you need to be away for 8 hours, do another research for 2 hours then go back to your original research. Of course you'll have to do this 2 hours before you go away from the keyboard, but it is entirely possible to time a research to finish at the appropriate time and avoid wasted hours without any research.

Re: Research Queueing

idd as reaper said, pausing of research is adequate enough to essentially never miss a tick of actual research time. It also keeps just enough balance there to allow the more "dedicated" players to hit their researches in the correct order and on time thus getting the slight advantage that they deserve.

I quite like this system.

Sure, I get punished because I'm not very active, but that's fair cop IMO. It lets me get research done, but provides benefits for greater activity.
