Recommended domain registrars?

I'm looking, unsurprisingly, to register a domain. A .net domain.
Does anyone know a particularly good registrar? I just want the domain hosted and the ability to choose my nameservers, all standard stuff. I'm not interested in free this that or the other which invariably jacks the price up. I already have web, email and FTP hosting anyway.

Thanks.

Re: Recommended domain registrars?

Last one I used was godaddy. Service seems pretty good and pirce is resonable. And if you listen to any techy podcasts your probally be able to find a 10% off code

it would be worth investigating the stories if you decide to go with them

Re: Recommended domain registrars?

GoDaddy Holds Domains Hostage.

GoDaddy seems to have recently increased their prices to $9.20 (that's after the 25 cents ICANN fee), namecheap is $8.88 a year. I'll probably end up moving my own domains to namecheap after the recent bad reputation GoDaddy has managed to gain.

I've used 123-reg.co.uk in the past and not had any issues.
