It was confusing when Div 2 became div 1, but now the old Div 3 is becoming the new Div 1, woah.

first impressions : awful

division 1 being called division 1 was already misleading when the premiership was above it, but now division 2 (the old division 3 ffs) will be called division 1 when division 1 becomes the mighty "championship"

btw, is this Brian Mawhinney (chairman of "the championship") still a Tory MP?

They can call it the SUPERMEGA AMAZOLEAGUE, but it wouldn't change anything, especially if you're going to watch Bristol City vs Huddersfield, or something like that; it's the elite of the english leagues all right. I don't think they 'get' this.

In fairness to the chap the div 1 champions still lift the old trophy that has been around - though tbh it would be far more beneficial to revamp the playoff system rather than rename the league, as this is something that actually needs looking at.

If anything it shows up the difference between 'Prem' and 'Football League' even more.

RvN has yet to play a convincing match in the national squad. All he's done so far is fall over, be absolutely not involved in the game and complain about how he should be the leader of the team.

I'd sooner put Makaay and Kluivert on the pitch than him, although it remains to be seen whether he'll play better in a system where he is the only striker with two wingers.

I personally feel this is unfair on Division 2. It should be called Division A, or THE X LEAGUE or something that doesnt suggest its insignificant compared to the three division ones.
