Internet giant AOL has ratcheted up the war against unsolicited e-mail with a publicity-grabbing coup - an online raffle of a spammer's seized Porsche

Does anyone else find this slightly ironic? One of the largest mail (cd's/promotion) spammers, getting all smug about selling of an e-mail spammers property.

aol's gonna go out of business <5 years....broad ban is picking up steam... and with broud ban aol is useless. Who is going to pay 14.99 for a browser? When you can get ie explorer, netscape, or opera for free.

more people use AOl in america than any other service provider.

theyre not half bad there either. if you ignore the gay aol interface and just stick on opera/ie etc instead its fine.

ive had download speeds of 8kb/sec of a normal modem..IT WAS INCREADIBLE.

AOL's current loss of customers puts them out of business around 2010. They're losing them like mad because their broadband service has never quite caught on. AOL has survived on pockets of ignorance, which are slowly being eroded as users become more internet savvy and no longer require aol's services (or become extremely annoyed with it interfering with everyone else's)

That being said, the porsche thing fking rocks.

AOL actually use to offer content. Like game servers. Then they got rid of the game servers, and content and became an overpriced ISP with flashy email.
