IPC dont officially play planetarion. most still play other online games; a handful of us still play PA though

i can't remember if ND was round 1...

I think i'm right in saying ND was created in r2 not r1. I'm sure someone will point out my mistake if i have been mislead.

ND were a round 1 alliance, however its debatable if the current ND counts as an alliance from round 1. They disbanded during r2 and were basically reformed in r3 by fans of the alliance with many of those who were votal to the alliance not even being invited back (coffee in particular). They themselves consider themselves the same alliance as before but many people outside ND dont hold the same in the same light.

No your wrong. ND was founded in round 1 and built up their numbers throughout the round . By the start of round 2 they had firmly established themselves as one of the chasing pack but like many members of the chasing pack they took heavy losses in the WaC war which led them to disband . The #newdawn channel however stayed active and full of most of the old members until it was decided by those there that the alliance should be reformed as an alliance in r3. Coffee at the time was pretty pissed off when he heard the news as he was an integral part of the original ND but wasnt consulted on the reformation or even invited back

interesting indeed...Having some of the medium alliances surviving this long...I must say, IPC and TFD impress me. Even tho they are not what they were...

No 'elderly' alliance can be what it was.
The state of the game does not allow it.
Right now the number of players in the universe is not much more than a certain alliance had at its 'peak'.

Uh. I guess I'll clear our part of this up.

[ND]Sith founded NewDawn in round 1. While the face of the leadership has changed, as with any alliance, the Sith maintained a constant presence throughout the duration of our existence, until approximately round 5.

By that time however, the personell that were in charge of NewDawn (with few exceptions) were allready members of the alliance.

While the nicknames may change, the principles, priorities, and positions of NewDawn have not, and will not change throughout the duration of Planetarion.

And we're still the best.

That mainly being because it was his fault that things went bad after the wac war.
To keep it short, his ego was in the way. U won't hear me say more bad about coffee cause he had a lot of good sides too. But I've already replied to this last round or so in a similar thread and don't feel much for going into this.

A small resume

- ND was formed in round 1
- Sith (who was for me always the father of ND and for most people in ND) has stayed around over the rounds and we still see him now and then in our channels and another round 1 hc is still playing with us in this round 10.5. (/me waves at canker)
- As for the rest, Barrow has put it very nice.

Stop-start how? Technically, there was a NewDawn from the beginning of round 1 to today. The success of that NewDawn, of course, has fluctuated. The existence of NewDawn, has not.

Thought there was a period where it was 'reformed' suggesting it hadn't been around for a short period of time

After the wac war in r2 most of us went inactive and ND was officially closed down because of a struggle in command. Some wanted to stay ND and some wanted all the core players to be gathered in a new alliance called 'Inexorabilis'.
Inexorabilis was started up but died before the new r3 could start because of differences of opinions. A few peeps left, like coffee and when the round start came closer Sith (the founder) decided to get people together again and just reopen ND, with the major part of the HC, that was around back in round2, present.

It seems to be commonly accepted that IPC is the oldest followed by F-Crew. I seem to recall there was some debate a few rounds back to who came next out of ND and TFD which basically seemed to hinge on how you deal with ND's half a round 'downtime' . If you count the ND that came after it as a new alliance or you subtract half a round from ND's running time then TFD take it, otherwise ND are slightly older. However with TFD's announcement I guess thats no longer an issue

ND before the 'downtime' and after the 'downtime' is the same , minus a few members and one command person. Hence the same as any alliance when they start a new round.

I don't understand what the freakin point is tbh, but if u want to be concrete ..

NewDawn is the only alliance that meant something in r1 and is still around making a difference
in r10.5 more then ever

Pfft I was ND rnd 1, and I dont think we ever properly disbanded, but most things that need to be said have been said in this thread already!!
