So Arsenal end £14m down.

Why don't you argue with the source then?

If Edu goes it'll be on a bosman. If Reyes is going, it won't be for anything near the fee that you paid for him, and it's fairly unlikely because all the transfer rumours about him have been generated by him being an idiot - nothing independent of that. There's been no sign from Real that they want him, for example. Lehmann and Almunia are aging, and I doubt you'd get £3m between them, and certainly not more than what you paid for them. I'd hardly call Hoyte a big name transfer either.
Ashley Cole might, just might, net you a lot of cash. However, I doubt that Cole leaving would be a positive thing for the team as a wohle.

£13m of the (declared) singings made by Blackburn came in the season with Duff leaving. Are you saying that Duff leaving didn't in fact give them more money to spend, and they would have spent that amount anyway? What kind of stupid argument is this?

If Reyes is sold this summer for the exactly the same as he was purchased for, its balances it. Another point is that Blackburn cannot expect to sell another player in the future for 17mill £. It was a one time Chelskji thing, besides I dont see anyone in the squad besides M.G Pedersen (who can play football, so no idea why he gets to start ), Friedel (why didnt you buy him Arsene!) and maybe Thomson and Emerton. So if you got lucky this time around, maybe it wont be so the next 3 year period.

This argument has drifted from "Blackburn Rovers are only in the premiership because they are given so much money by an abramovich figure" to "HEY! Arsenal (with better marketing, league, and european success than Blackburn) are a RICHER TEAM!"
You appear to be getting confused what your side of the argument actually is.

Re: [Premiership] Rovers a shitty team?
Arsenal play dirtily sometimes. Blackburn play dirtily sometimes.
It can be a valid tactic to rough up your opponents.
Actually trying to injure a player is much worse of course.
Arsenal are much MUCH better off than Blackburn. They have masses more resources, many more fans and are a bigger club in general. The premiership is fairly uncompetetive as the teams at the top get richer while the ones at the bottom get poorer.
What a lot of big club fans fail to realise is that football isn't just about who gets into the champions league. there are hundreds of teams below them with thousands of fans and almost all are struggling to stay afloat.
What are you actually arguing about anyway?

I'm arguing with this:
Quote:
Compare Blackburns spending (-income from player sales ofc) the last 3 seasons, and Wengers, and Im not sure you will find Wenger spending more. They might not be a big city, but they certainly got money from the fund left by the billionaire supporting em.
|
I'm not sure he's on the same wavelength though.

Re: [Premiership] Rovers a shitty team?
well, while Blackburn most certainly got into the premiership, won it, and stayed up due to Jack Walkers millions, they certainly don't have any more money than almost all the top division. They certainly don't have Arsenals wage bill, transfer budget or ability to build a massive stadium.
