1up will always consider good active players for membership. 1up has won 4 of the 7 rounds it has played. The current and past members of this alliance have set a high standard of play and success, and anything less than your best is completely unnacceptable. We are a team, we work as a team, we win as a team. We have fun, but we refuse to substitute sub standard play and performance for it. Winning is fun. Requirements may change from time to time (planet value/score/etc) but there are things that will not, those things include;

1. You must be a player in good standing with 1up Command, meaning no past history of being kicked out of 1up, or breaking a planet NAP, or any other situation that would reflect badly on you. (we are willing to discuss any situation on a case by case basis should the merits of the situation support discussion)

2. Vouches from current 1up members who are active and in good standing = teh good. The more vouches you have the better. Vouches from non 1up members who we know, or have a good history with are considered, but certainly not given the same weight as current members vouches. We will consider you without vouches at the HC level, however you need a strong PA resume, and verifyable information.

3. You must be available to attack and defend at the convenience of 1up, and play within alliance guidelines, meaning you will attack at our attack times, you will follow fleet requirements as set by the 1up HC, you will play actively, and you will take direction from 1up's HC and Military Officers without whining, bitching , moaning, or complaining. Any deviation from any of the things mentioned in this section are grounds for immediate termination from the alliance.

1up has a strong member community and player base. We have friendly knowlegeable players who you can learn from, and who you can share your knowledge and experience with.

The members of the 1up HC expect a lot of our members, we will do all we can to facilitate our members in having successful planets, and a successful alliance experience. We have the best Command team in the game, they are experienced and have a proven track record.

not all applicants will be accepted, we fill our membership on an "as needed" basis. Once recieved, your e mail will be posted and reviewed. We will contact you concerning your application once a decision has been reached. There is no time frame involved, we will review and accept/decline your application as time allows. You will be notified by e mail of our decision. If you are approved for membership, sign up and channel information will be included in that membership.

you need to include the following information in your e mail;

*netgamers nick (including any past aliases used)
*geographic location
*alliance history
*IRC availability
*names of any verifyable vouchers
*brief summary of who you are and why you would like to join 1up, and why we should accept you as a member of our team

sounds like 1ups are forbidden to think on their own,
wouldnt a bot fit better there?

That isnt exactly what it says. It more means that you have to have trust and faith in the decisions of your HC's. There is a difference.

I expect to be heavily moderating this thread, including robban1's little contribution earlier. The rules of AR apply to every alliance, whether that alliance is 1up or Hidden Agenda.

No flaming is permitted. Discussion of an alliance's requirements and ethos is fine, but any abuse of this right will just result in a deleted post. AR exists for alliances to advertise for new players, and the same rules apply to every alliance's thread.

it's simply a recruitment thread, it's not something we normally do, but as there are openings in any alliance from time to time, I thought it would be nice to let people know how to apply should they be interested instead of me answering 8 billion pm's from our public channel for the next two weeks..... it is what it is, we expect certain things, if it's not for you, we wish you the best of luck wherever you play. If it doesn't fit what you want out of an alliance, or you don't have the time to commit to it, you don't have to apply, not holding anyone at gunpoint

Well, like I said, 5 alliances to choose from. 3 of those are naturally top 3 alliances. Whick top 5 alliance do you all think would do best next round?

It's fairly standard for top alliances to ask for vouches, as well as to expect that an applicant will not have a bad history with the alliance they're applying to. 1up's willingness to accept vouches from non-1up members is very helpful for applicants - of course, it won't sway things but it can come in handy for those less well-connected players.

Also back on topic, doing recruitment threads is nothing new, iirc cayl wrote one before round 11 (which will probably be the finest AR thread you will ever read, even though this is good angryduck ;p) which incidentally was a sucessful round...so you never know.

It may sound a bit strict, but 1up is just like any other community. We have fun together, we have alot of banter, we sometimes meet up. The only difference is that when it comes to PA, we like to win, and the HC are there to make sure we don't get people that want to leech off us, but those who give as much as they get.

Any 1up member will tell you we enjoy having new people coming into the alliance as its another mate we'll soon have.

Well i havent ofc bin a member of 1up, but i have worked with a lot of the 1up members in different alliances through out my PA Carear. At least most of the HC i have worked with, except ofc the Sid, which people keep telling me i have missed out

So i know there a great bunch, and ofc they work hard. People would learn a lot from them ect. Even Arfy ^^ (the crazy one

) And even Zhil can crack a smile from time to time.. (he will kill me fortelling his secret) But hey gud luck 1up, im sure youll still be a force to watch over.

Glad to see 1up is back to be a winner again... Its hard work to be in the top 5 and 1up has always shown the dedication to be top 2... Good Luck to all the 1up members...
