A new porno video phone service is to be released in several months time in Scandinavia and who knows from there. But downloading movies onto the phone during an exam heh.

Opinions in general on video phone technology and anything else considered tech-boring ?

I worked on the video phones BT made in the beginning of the 90's.

I dearly hope things have improved, it won't be the data rate technology that's improved, unless it's some sort of VoIP/broadband device.

What may have changed is the compression and, more likely, the software filters that only send pixel information if that pixel is actually changing. With someone sat inside, teh background will hardly ever move, so it's just the pixel information from teh speaker's head that changes.

How any of that will help transmit a porn movie, I don't know, but you could argue that most porn is rhythmic bouncing of some sort of another *, so it might work quite well.

The picture quality on that advert about Premiership goals looks good. But then, that's just an advert.

Video messaging seems completely pointless to me, as is picture messaging. Then again, I only bothered buying my first mobile phone 6 months ago so I'm not exactly on the cutting edge of technology.

a little off topic but just a question about mobile phones.

with java games on phones being downloaded wont you be able to transfer them from phone to phone eventually (if you cant already), and wont that mean you could get viruses floating about and stuff?

They will be very careful to make sure that it won't be possible for something like that to happen, by avoiding creating any potential flaws that could be exploited.

Yes, there will be viruses and stuff floating around eventually.
