Yes
See Hotel Rwanda too. It nearly made me cry, but it's very good.

Re: The Downfall
It dragged slightly in parts (I groaned when I realised that they were going to show her killing all of the children ) but yeah overall it was top-notch. Probably the best film I've seen this year (although sahara pushes it close!)
PS I think we might have already have a thread on this actually...

Clearly people don't. It's only just arrived at my local cinema anyway. I only saw it today ffs.
By rights, Bruno Ganz should definetley have been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar. His performance pisses over anything I've seen from a Hollywood actor in years.
Jonny: Agree. For me the killing of the Goebbels children was probably the only 'slow' part of the film.

Re: The Downfall
Aye, he deserves some sort of recognition. I left that film thinking "jesus hitler was ****ed up" as opposed to "****ing hell vin diesel should be taken out back and shot".

Re: The Downfall
Did you watch it with spoken German and English subtitles, or English dubs?
It's a good movie indeed. I found the Goebels family more disgusting than Hitler.

Spoken German, English subtitles. I wouldn't have watched it if it had been dubbed.

Re: The Downfall
Films like that are rarely dubbed, as it would be ridiculous.
Agree about Ganz's acting. Although as I said in the last thread, it did make me wonder why someone didn't just shoot the ****ing lunatic way before the end.

Re: The Downfall
So far, it's the best movie this year.
And Ganz was amazing. Not only as an actor, but he looked a lot like Hitler - allthough that possibly isn't a positive.
