I disagree with this. There is a significant advantage in each race having a huge hole, namely it helps to keep each race in check and helps significantly towards the overall balance of the races. While I agree the overall direction of the game has been to make attacking easier, people have pointed out time and time again that this game is about attacking not defending, so the fact that the stats are skewed in favor of attacking reflects the nature of the game rather then a flaw in the creation of the stats.
