trick or treating is glorified begging
little cnut came to the door i gave him some sweets from the sweets we (flat) had bought and closed the door, 1.3 secs later i hear a crack against the wall, the little mother****ing shit threw the sweets away because he wanted money so i opened the door and for once not being out numbered by the ****s 25 to 1 when they walk down the street, i let him have it, Aphex twin video where the whatsit screams at the little old lady, well thats what it was like, i made him come over and pick up every last one, he wont be coming back here again, oh no. Children are getting out of control on the streets and the only way i can see out of this situation is to start legalising pedophilia start a licence system whereby they're allowed to abduct and abuse the most disruptive children, a few rapes and murders later all will be well.
Children suck and should therefore be made to suck.
****s
ps ive switched the bell off and am ignoring the begging little tossers

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
I never give them anything unless
1. they ask on the right day (this has yet to happen)
2. they've made some effort with costume
Even then they only get sweets. I hope you didn't use your "I hope you get raped and/or murdered for throwing sweets" idea when you were shouting at the kid in the street

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
Since when have kids started asking for money? If a kid tried that on me I'd laugh in his face. Tho I'm not even sure if we're gonna have candy this year, last year we didn't but everyone in that apartment building was in college.
Oh, and do you guys celebrate early, or is this a story from last year?

Theres usually 1 or 2 people who think they will be *smart* and come a day or two early. We even had someone come like 4 days early before

We dont have Haloween here \o/ \o/
Unfortunatly we have something similair called "Sint Maarten"
But when they ring my door I open and look like a sheep who just saw his own wool run away.
Tbh I dont even know what it is all about and I dont care either. It's all commercial useless garbage.

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
Scoot951's reply makes it clearer to me. In the US it's a respectable established holiday with clearly defined customs, but in the UK, young idiot beggars latched onto the "something for nothing" part without the details of getting the day right / wearing costumes etc.
If you reply "trick" when they ask, they'll either be totally confused or you'll get a firework through your letterbox later.

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
Everyone should have a hosepipe handy.
P.S. I've never heard of people asking for money before.
P.P.S. They never come to my house. I suppose the dog scares most of them away.
P.P.P.S. I think it's legally classified as begging, so threaten to have them arrested. And of course if they "trick" it's criminal damage.

Where I live, you're not allowed to buy eggs or flour unless you spend over £20 on other stuff aswell.
This is because the last few years the little twats have been getting better and better at terrorising the area.

I guess that's a good idea up until you forget to buy eggs or flour when you go grocery shopping.

If you piss the kids off where i live you end up with eggs being thrown at your house, fireworks being put through your letter box or a bullet in your head, its all fun .
The only solution is to sit on the roof with a paintball gun and pick them off at will.

Some of them don't even say "trick or treat", they just look at you.
Solution, throw chilli powder in their eyes and close the door. (this is to catch the ones who don't wear costumes (ie. mask) and the ones wearing masks are generally safe....)

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
im not gonna come into contact with little tiny useless pieces of turd begging for money tonight, nope, not a chance... instead, im going to come into contact with hundreds of older pissed up fools who are begging for free drinks just because its halloween. none of them will consider in the slightest that our club is having NO halloween compeitions/give away night thingys or whatever, therefore the chances of a free drink tonight is just the same as the chances of me being sober on new years eve, even while im working

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
i'm gonna get free drinks tonight
my parents will buy them for me
some people think it's odd that i'd go to the bar with my parents.. but when they're not utter shit, they're pretty fun :P
my dad is the 'spotlight' guy for the band playing tonight.. which is why he'll be there, my mom will go cause i make her go.. and then they buy me drinks.

edit: also when i go out now i usually have a few smokes with my friends too, i dont think my rents would appreciate that. well, perhaps my dad, but my mother isnt exactly gonna want to smoke weed heh

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
Both ignoring trick or treaters and giving them candy are bourgoios. they both have the message "isn't it a good thing that we have all this excess candy so that we can decide which of the kids are most worthy, sing for us little children so that we may judge you."
Tony Benn made a very good comment about Bernie Ecclestone donating 100,000 mars bars to an orphanage. I paraphrase from memory.
"It doesn't matter what his motives were or whether he expected anything in return, it's just that well... 100,000 mars bars...to an orphanage...there's a man who could afford to pay a bit more income tax."

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
LOL... i remember that... we didnt give him money anyway, e gave him sweets. thats the whole idea of halloween i think, tradition shows that youre supposed to hand out sweets, not money, and only to people who make the effort. i agree with whoever said it last, america do it properly. i wanna be there for such events, like this and christmas

I thin kthe main point is not the candy handouts part it is the excess capital used to purchase it which was derrived from expoloitation of the poor. From my perspective Someone from south kensington giving sweets to a child from say Brixton is similar to me blowing up your house cutting your wages, stealing from your bank account and swindling you out of a fair reward for the goods and services you produce then giving you a Twix and saying "aren't I altruistic" and expecting you to say thank you.

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
think back.. waaay way way back then to when you was a little kid. say you were 3 like this little one that appeared 10 minutes ago, youd feel disappointed if youd dressed up and youre that young not to get anything. the sad thing is that when they grow older the expectation is still there, except its on money... it was only something like a 20pence bag of random sweets, but if im not going to eat them anyway why not give em out?

Be grateful, over here the little toerags set off 4 billion bangers in the space of five minutes and pour gasoline over bonfires. Halloween is actually the one night I refuse to go out where I live (go into dublin instead).

Re: trick or treating is glorified begging
one year my sister and i went trick or treating and one of the houses made us sing or they wouldn't give us candy
i like seeing the wee tykes dressed up.. it's cute
the older ones can bugger off though
i tend to give more candy to the littler kids.. which is funny cause 1/2 of it prolly goes to the parents/older siblings anyway
