-= ROCK alliance for Round 31 =-

ROCK is entering Round 31 with a new experienced HC team and a strong desire to achieve more as an alliance moving forward. That means we will be requiring a little more of our membership this round and open our doors to people with a similar mindset. We welcome new and old players alike, as long as they agree to follow our requirements, are active and have a desire to succeed.

[ ROCK's core beliefs are: ]

• Teamwork: We are strongest when we work as a team. We help one another grow and succeed. There is no favouritism in ROCK.
• Honor: Honorable play is more important to us than score. We do not betray our friends.
• Determination: We have been playing PA for 27 rounds. Times may change, but ROCK continues.
• Respect: We respect all PA players, regardless of their alligence.
• Fair play: We do not cheat and we do not side for the sake of growth or profit.
• Community: ROCK is old and has many past members. They remain our friends and are welcome to stay in our community channels and join us in other games.

[ ROCK's requirements for members: ]

• You believe in and follow our core beliefs.
• You have a good attitude to the game and other players.
• You are IRC active for at least 3 hrs a day and respond to PMs and emails.
• You attack most nights of the week AND reserve a defence fleet, which you offer whenever it is needed.
• You do not take yourself too seriously and remember that you are part of a team that strives for a common goal.
• You are able to check your planet often during the day, including defence and attack fleets before they land and defence calls at night. No epic crashes in ROCK!

[ What we offer: ]

• We offer a respected and thoughtful style of play.
• We support our members with a website and forum, and tools to use in game.
• We provide daily scans, attacks and defence.
• We have stable well-organized HCs that are experienced and available to help. We hold a weekly 'HC hour' where we report back to our members and give them a chance to talk openly with our command.
• We are a strong community. Several times a year we even meet up in person at the legendary ROCK meet!
• We now present our members with weekly goals and targets to keep the round interesting and fun. Score and size do not have to the be the only reason to play this great game.

Rock are the most fun, loyal and respectul alliance ever to be part of in PA. And i am glad i am home


Oh and a breif little history lesson for everyone:

The origin of Rock dates back to the end of round 2 as a partnership known as Stryke. Stryke was a rapid reaction force working via email and ICQ. The co-founder of Stryke arrived in Round 4 and made the decision to launch a parallel alliance called [p19]. It proved to be very successful, and during the last weeks of round 4 it was decided that the spirit of [p19] was something which nobody wanted to lose. The floodgates of recruitment were once again thrown open, but this time as Rock.The motive behind naming the alliance Rock has been forgotten - a few theories include the Rock-like solidarity of the alliance's members, the alliance's ability to "Rock" the universe, or even the alliance Commander's taste in music. The most likely however, is that the name delves deeply into the very roots of Planetarion - after all, isn't that what this game is about - just a load of mineral enriched Rocks?

Ghost and I are leading. Pt, Bromm and Peders are our military HC. Angelus is running internal affairs.

We are hoping to get some of our previous members back, as we had some leave after such a long round 30 and a slump we suffered from mid way through. This is going to be a much more active round and we are being stricter with members.

Leaner and tougher is our aim this time.

Not to be picky, but sincerely because I want the answer:

How can it date back to Round 2 "as a partnership" if the "co-founder of Stryke" didn't arrive until Round 4? It seems that Rock was a natural progression of a R4 P-alliance. Was Stryke playing in R2, the co-founder of which then "arrived in R4 to set up [p19]"? If so, surely Strike is just part of the CV that makes up Rock's founder, and as such meaning Rock can only be traced back as far as R4, and not R2?

Huh, I was always under the assumptions, you supported me and it was the likes of ****us who kicked me out!
