Newbie Help

Hey everyone, I'm new to this game and was just wondering if anyone had any helpful tips, and what to do first to get my planet started. Thanks for your time.

Well, bear in mind that I'm a noob....

IMO, right at the start, initiate roids as fast as you can, and CONSTANTLY research. once you get up to around 200 roids you should be out of protection and desperately in need of ships, so you can then

Unless you're cath, build a research centre, then 3 or 4 mines, then another research centre etc (sometimes swapping mines for factories and the like as you can).

Getting yerself into a decent alliance is almost a must, for scans and teh like so you can do effective raids early to help boost roids/score.

Engineers should usually be research/mining/construction, atleast for the first 48 ticks

Research: Heavy Cargo transfers for a little, then hull tech (depends on race, but for most nearly all hulltech is needed, Xans can survive w/ just frigs, atleast for a while), and traveltime. then tactics (intersperse these with HCT as you need).

I would then consider going full on with the wave-tech tree, they're EXTREMELY useful!

Fianlly, you've started very late in the game, it will be quite difficult for you, being many ticks of research/construction behind!
