In Part Of A Greater Effort To Really Screw Up My Kids
I plan to have eventually have a video collection based purely on whether or not the movies seem to represent a distorted view of reality.
So far I have:
Wizard of Oz
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Labyrinth
Return to Oz
and maybe Babes in Toyland
other suggestions are welcome and encouraged.

Re: In Part Of A Greater Effort To Really Screw Up My Kids
Insofar as all kid's movies have a distorted view of reality, I guess I'm missing your point.

was it just me as a 7 year old kid, or was this actually a movie with a really sad ending? I think I remember crying at the end when his oversized novelty dog drowns or something?

The Sound of Music.
That movie scared the **** out of me when I saw it... I didn't understand how people could act that way and still be sane.

Re: In Part Of A Greater Effort To Really Screw Up My Kids
Any pokémon movie :/
Or that Return to Oz one... the one with the people on wheels... and the witch in the castle who had loads of heads, and they all screamed at someone who came in the room. That was so messed up.
The Witches was a pretty scary film too. When the kid is transformed into a mouse... jeeez

Oh well, you could just pick up a Book of Vile Darkness and read your kids good night stories about child molestry or necrophilia.

Awesome movie for kids. Don't know though if it is available in English (neiter amazon.com nor amazon.co.uk seem to have it. But it is a great opportunity to learn Swedish or German )
