The Titan Ships: New Colonies

For years the Earth and her small surrounding colonies have enjoyed a prosperous peace. No one can remember the last time a person died of a crime or war, and the Great Wars of the Colonies ended by diplomatic means. The colonies got along with each other and with Earth and frankly, no one had anything to complain about.

Suddenly, in the early morning hours over the capital city of the Mars colony in 2250, a giant firestorm erupted. The city was leveled and almost 12 million souls were lost in a heartbeat. The rest of Mars blamed the Ios colony, because Ios was attacked frequently by Mars during the Wars. The Naval Fleet of Earth tried to prevent a travesty and began sending giant ships of war out to form a blockade between Ios and Mars to prevent war. The forces of Earth knew that Ios wasn’t responsible, because Ios had become a Pacifist Colony right after the War. After a few years of unrest, the Fleets of Earth returned and Mars and Ios formed a treaty swearing peace.

Almost one year later, on the date that Mars’ capital was destroyed, the entire colony of Ios was annihilated. 24 million people died. This time, Earth took action and blamed Mars for this act, saying that it was retribution. Mars was backed by its allies, the colonies of Saturn and Titan. Earth had its allies of Mercury and its own Moon. A new War broke out in the year 2256. Earth sent it fleets to destroy Saturn; Mars dispatched its missiles to the Moon. The two powers exchanged these attacks on the weaker allies, until both on each side dropped out.

In 2268 Mars and Earth stood alone. The colonies of Mercury, the Moon, and Saturn were all destroyed. Titan had remained unharmed, but the years of war and strife took its toll on the economy and the populace. Titan began developing massive ships to be deployed to colonize other star systems. In the mean time, Mars and Earth both prepared sneak attacks on the other. Earth created a fleet of over 3,500 small ships, smaller then corvettes, to attack the cities of Mars. Mars on the other hand, stockpiled missiles and filled them with corrosive poisons and acids.

Having a small, fully self-sufficient fleet established, Titan began rounding up people and crews for the massive ships. The crews were ordered to try and re-establish humanity in other systems and to fight whatever originally caused this mess. All along Titan had known about the attacks and how neither Ios nor Mars nor any other colony had attacked. While Titan made preparations to leave, Mars and Earth both attacked. The fleets of Earth made the first move. The little ships swarmed defenses and destroyed cities like a plague. When they first arrived, Mars began to launch its missile barrage.

After a days worth of fighting, Mars was in complete ruin. Every living person on the colony died. The victorious fleet of Earth returned, now only 2,700 strong. They arrived just in time for Mars’ missiles. The ships landed, and, with out notice, the missiles rained down from the heaven. The plagues and acids ate threw everything in sight, in a month’s time, the planet was destroyed. With the near simultaneous destruction of both Earth and Mars, the Titan colony stood alone. But they were not alone for long.

In the year 2270, the Titan colonists had finished construction of the ships. They needed captains, but they figured that there was time to wait. They figured wrong. In 2271, the aliens that had attacked Mars and destroyed Ios came back to finish what they began. As the incoming alien fleet was spotted, a made dash was made to each and every one of the Titan Ships. They still needed captains though, and the fleets of the aliens had come too soon.

The Titan Ships need captains. You must decide on a name for your ship and describe the escape from the colony in hyperspace. No real data can be displayed about your ships, because you don’t know anything about them. These ships were creates to colonize other star systems. In time you will learn what they are capable of.

NOTE: Do not try to fight anything with them, only be defensive. These ships are ridiculously huge and have a lot of weak weapons on them.

Titain Ship's name--Ghandi

Escape-- The Ghandi was on the far side of the planet When the attacks on titan began. When the order to flee was given it was hesitently folowed by the Ghandi most of the crew was still in training when the attack came, because of this the gahndi fleed with a skeleton crew. Mao the ranking officer ordered the ship of titan and out of system. The bulk of the alien fleet was on the other side of titan talking out the main popultion centers. The aliens did not detect the Ghandi until she had activated it's grav drive and jumped out of system.

Titan Ship Name--"Hoffnung" (Hope)

Escape-- Myles was in the middle of meeting the Bridge Officers when the sirens seared through the ship from the Ship Bay, he hadn't time for introductions, he took his station at Helm and lifted the lug of a ship off the ground and out the bay doors. It was only minutes of watching other colony ships crumble down to the moon below after exploding, he was lucky himself to get out of the atmosphere alive, as soon as the ship entered space, Myles was horrified to see the hundreds of alien vessels laying waste to the colonies and ships below, he had been of the side of the planet, lucky for him and whatever ships that followed, a blast shook the ship a bit, and sparks flew from the consoles, Myles quickly tried whatever manuevers he could for this big ship to evade the attackers, he watched on the viewscreen for a second as the last remaining ships from his area of the planet were blown to debris by the attacking ships. As soon as they were within distance from the planet, and they had evaded the attackers, Udokaff activated the Hyperspace drive and warped to a nearby system, not too close, not too far.

escape: The Safe Voyage was the first colony ship to launch from Titan when the alien attack commensed, unfortunately it launched directly towards the bulk of the alien fleet. Knowing that their chances of making it through where slim, Flapjack ordered the Safe Voyage to fire its engines at maximum capicity, while the ship was on a direct course towards the alien fleet.
The Safe Voyage rapidly acclerated towards the alien fleet, its defensive shields and weapon systems coming online as they entered maximum firing range. The Safe Voyage itself had been designed with the asteroid field Sigma Proxima system in mind and was thus the heaviest armed and shielded of the colonyships, while also being 1 of the smallest.
Moments after they entered firing range the ship shuddered as all its weapons fired on a small alien vessel, immediatly tearing the ship apart. The colonyship's guns had been designed to rip through asteroids to keep them from destroying the ship, quite clearly however aliens where not much tougher then asteroids. The colonyship however remained largely unopposed, as the more dangerous of Titan's warship where targetted first. After destroying 8 ships, the Safe Voyage entered short range of the enemy fleet and started to encounter more firepower, the aliens now apparently convinced the ship was going to try and ram them, a plan which had indeed formed in Flapjack's mind.
As the ship entered the alien fleet, weaponsfire now pouring into the shields and quickly reducing their strength, Flapjack set a course towards their flagship, intending to take it out with them. However as they approached the hyperdrive system finally came online, allowing the ship to jump out mere moments before it hit the alien flagship and yet shorter before being hit by a full volley of all of the flagship's weaponry, thus saving the ship from certain death.

Mrmao: The Ghandi leaps forward into the hyperspace tunnel, which closes behind it. The ships travels for an hour straight away from Titan. At the end of this hour long journey, the end of the hyperspace tunnel opens and the Ghandi is dumped out. In the middle of a star system, you look out at the strange alien worlds. Some distance away, you notice the systems large red star. There aren't any planets in the immiediate area, so you must now look for some.

Io Cor: The Hope flees from its burning homeworld and enters a hyperspace tunnel. It flees from Titan on an angle, and travels through the tunnel for the better part of a half hour. To you and your crew's dismay, the ship reverts in an ion storm that is passing a planet. This planet is a large planet, the size of Saturn and by the looks of it, just like Earth. You cant begin colonizing because the current ion storm has shut down all power on your ship. It is slowly drifting closer to the planet, but due to the Hope's size, it wont crash.

Flapjack: The Safe Voyage opens a tunnel inside the bridge of the incoming alien fleet. The ship is destroyed and parts of it are sucked in the tunnel with the Voyage. The Voyage travels for two hours inside the tunnel before exiting. While exiting, you ships engines are cut offline due to debris, and the Voyage makes a safe crash landing on a desert planet. Luckily for you, and every one on board, the ships lands very close to one of the only bodies of water on the planet.

All: These ships all have people on them. By people i mean not only your crew but a 1000 citizens from Titan. They need homes and places to work etc. (Buildings etc shall come soon)

Those looking to join: Due to the Voyage's destruction of the alien flag ship, for a few minutes the aliens are thrown into complete chaos. They stop destroying things, leave your ships a valuble opertunity to flee Titan.

"Aye sir. Drives coming online, taking us away.""

"Sir, there is no time to plot a course..."


Listening carefully, one could've heard the person saying that also say something about that he couldn't do so fast enough, due to him being as new to ship as Captain Fluffie.

"Engage emergency jump protocols."

The Dreamer, a ship smooth and sleak for its size, was by now gliding through the black void, still accelerating to faster sublight speeds. Leaving Titan behind her, almost certainly to be destroyed by the overwhelming amount of hostile, alien vessels, her crew mainly, but the colonists aboard too, focussed on the task at hand: fleeing the warzone and reaching a safe haven, to build a new home and rebuild the glory of their planet, to seek out and avenge these evil-doers.

Somehow lost in these thoughts for a moment, Fluffie is brutally ripped away from them as someone enthousiastically and loudly reports.

"Hyperspace Tunnel generator fully charged."

"Emergency jump protocols ready at your command... sir.."


With these two reports, everyone knew they were throwing their last looks at Titan. They did so in silence, muttering soft goodbyes...

"For now we can only pray for those who will fall, have fallen already and those who might still fall in the coming struggle. We flee Titan now and can but dream of her... But know that our dreams will turn into the nightmares of the aliens."

Alfred sighed and took a deep, uneasy breath.

"Take us out of here."

As the Dreamer's Hyperspace Tunnel opened, the alien ships began attacking the remaining ships and Titan itself again. With these images stored forever in their minds and souls, the crew and colonists aboard the dreamer waited for the ship to return to normal space again.

With the first ships way, Tollin had to be delayed, his crew and bridge officers caught of guard by the suddenes. But the alien fleet had come hard, just when the Ventura had begun its escape. Tollin had seen the fleet closing about the colony and the other fleeing ships. Tollin was slowly running out of options, and he watched as one by one the other ships blinked into hyperspace, but then he saw the alien flagship get ripped to shreads by the Safe Voyage.

"Our window has opened. Engines to full power, get us out of here NOW."

"On it sir, But its a cold start. Enginering, get the dries up. Plotting course."

"Drives ready, we need a course helm.

"Course set. Jump on mark!"


"Mark."

Escape:
As the sirens sounded the crew and passengers hurried aboard the ship, which lifted as soon as the doors closed, even though many had not made it to their seats, 5 of the passengers died from being thrown against the metal walls, and more were injured, but only a minute after Fate's escape the dock was blown into peices by an alien bomb.
Throughout the ship there was complete dissarray, however the bridge still maintained some form of order, despite the fact that the navigation officer had not made it to the ship, so one of the colonists, who had been in training, had to take over.
"How long before we can get the drive online, Jim?"
"about five minutes minimum, i'm not used to these controls, which direction shall we head in?"
The aliens had almost surruonded the small moon, there was no hope of escape, then suddenly out of the corner of his eye Triolus spotted a ship heading at full speed towards the cantre of the fleet.
"Head over to that side, try to hit the fleet at the same place as the ship, about a minute afterwards, that could be the distraction we need, as soon as you can, engage the hyperdrive."
Fate slowly accelerated towards the other ship, eventually getting close enough to read the name, Safe Voyage. The crew saw the ship go right into the fleet, then a few seconds later there was the bright flash of a hyperdrive tunnel opening, and most of the ships in the area either fled, or were partly sucked in, including one very large ship.
Triolus leapt over to the comms panel and pressed a button "calling all Titan ships, the Safe Voyage has destroyed the mothership, i repeat, the Safe Voyage has destroyed the alien mothership" He turned away from the microphone "what are you waiting for? they just opened our exit, now get over there before it closes againlets see if we can give the others some more time while we're at it.

Fate sped towards the rapidly closing hole in the alien forces, managing to make it into short weapon range without too much damage,.
"how long till the hyperdrive is active?"
"About 15 seconds sir, which way shall I point it?"
"Wherever you want, engage on my mark."
"hyperdrive ready sir"
The alien ships were getting closer, some were beginning to fire on Fate's hull
"Three" a laser shot streaked accross the screen
"Two" A large craft, obviosly intended for destroying any orbital stations began to turn towards them
"One" a missile streaked from the larger craft, heading straight for Fate
"MARK" the tunnel opened seconds before the missile streaked through the space where the ship had been, some parts broke off and were sucked into the tunnel

The ship emerged from the tunnel
"Whats our status?"
one of the officers read out a series of reports, they were not good, sensors had been partially damaged, leaving them nearly blind along the port side, a peice of the missile had lodged into ont of the starboard thrusters, rendering it inoperable, and they were out of fabric softener.

ooc/ I'll just do the ship exiting hyperspace tunnel and crash landing in some nice detail now, then wait for you to respond to indicate what I should go and do next (aka, colonise or fix ship, I'm guessing colonize) /ooc

Flapjack sat at the small helm console that was his position, he'd been the highest ranking officer on the ship, being a first luitenant and designated second in command, when they had been forced to launch, leaving the captain behind. Now the end of the hyperspace tunnel was approaching and the ship had been damaged during its entry into hyperspace and by the looks of it, it had also managed to destroy at least 1 large alien vessel, most likely the mothership.

"Aproaching hyperspace exit. T-minus 1 minute. All hands to their stations, secure all primary systems."

The hyperspace tunnel exit approached faster and faster, a loud clunk went through the ship as the so maniest piece of debris bounced off the hull, this 1 however was immediatly followed by the disturbing sound of sirens all across the ship.

"Hull breach in engineering, primary drives unreponsive, maneuvering thrusters switching to emergency power, primary systems offline, emergency reactors 1 and 2 active, primary reactors 1 through 4 unresponsive, emergency reactor shutdown activated for all primary reactors. Hyperspace exit in T-minus 10 seconds."

"All stations prepare for emergency landing, emergency bulkheads in place on engineering."

The ship, now followed by a bright orange streak of plasma leaking from the engineering section, a large hole gaping at the bottom of the ship, silently exited the hyperspace tunnel, its nose pointed directly at the desert planet in front of them. Silence comes through the ship as the whole bridge crew realises what will happen.

"Desert class planet dead ahead, distance 150000 kilometers and closing rapidly, current speed at 15km/s, automatic orbitting systems have failed to respond, manaul orbitting controls active."

"Retro drives 1 through 5 and 8 through 15 inresponsive, drive 6 and 7 firing. Sir, we won't be able to get into orbit like this, we're going down hard."

The ship shuddered as the 2 most forward central retros fired, attempting to slow down the massive colony ship rather unsuccessfully. Moments after maneuvering thrusters began firing as Flapjack attempting to point the heatshielded bottom of the ship towards the planet.

"Impact on the planet's atmosphere in 10 minutes and counting, sealing outer bulkheads to reduce the chance of damage from hullbreaches. Diverting all emergency power to maneuvering thrusters."

masses of small flares appeared on the front and the bottom of the colony ship as its maneuvering thrusters fired, attempting to slow the ship down as much as possible in order to reduce the risk of breaking up in the atmosphere.

"Planet escape velocity is 12km/s, aprox Gravitational force on the surface 11km/s/s, air density and build-up similar to earth atmosphere, the planet is capable of supporting human life but is lacking an atmosphere. Sending the coordinates of potential landing sites to helm console."

"Atmosphere impact in 5 seconds, all hands brace for impact."

The hull rapidly lit up brightly red as the ship bashed its way into the desert planet's atmosphere, the maneuvering thrusters still trying to reduce its speed and attempting to keep it under control. The ship rapidly losing altitude and speed. On the viewscreen on the bridge the ground can already be clearly sound, as well as a small sea, which the ship is heading towards.

"We'll just be overshooting that sea sir, just keep her steady."

For seconds the massive ship continued to drop, the ground rapidly appraoching it as they went.

"Impact with the ground is 5 seconds, all hands brace for impact, deploying landing gear."

The ship fired its thrusters yet more as it closed the shore of the sea rapidly, its altitude already at a mere kilometer while the massive landing gear appeared from the still red hot bottom. Massive dust storms appeared under the ship as those aboard held their breath in wait for the impact. On impact the landing gear shattered, however it absorbed a significant amount of energy before doing so, allowing the ship to smash into the sand with an earthshaking thud and sliding on for 3 miles before finally stopping, the huge trench starting at the edge of the sea and being several feet deep at some parts, none of this however was visible as the dust thrown up at impact rapidly spread across the surface, all ready covering 20 square miles and thus being visible from low orbit as a large spot of what appears to be brown clouds.

"Landing gear is gone, however the ship itself held up remarkably well. Several minor hull breaches in the lower decks, as well as a few missing turrets and shield emitters. But nothing that couldn't be fixed with a few weeks work. First priority is sustaining ourselves, all cargo bays are fully loaded and the hydroponics bay is undamaged, we've got enough fuel to run the emergency reactor for at least 5 years and we'll only need water to replenish that, so power will not be a problem. Last minute scans of the water in that sea shows it is sweet water. Hmm, look at this, there's water flowing into the engineering section, so our crash must have hit the water a little."

Fluffie: The Dreamer makes a jump out of system without acctually being detected. The only other ship to do this was the Ghandi. The Dreamer sails through its hyperspace tunnel and comes out of hyperspace a few dozen kilometers in front of the Ghandi. Sensor report that the ship is Titanian, but they cant find any planets close by.

Wo2: The Venturra jumps out of the system on a slight angle, almost parallel to the jump made by the Safe Voyage. The ships travels for two and a half hours and exits into a system clouded with asteroids. The ship is in almost immidiate danger because some of these are quite large. Way off in the distance, the ship's senors pick up an ocean planet with a couple of large islands.

Flaag: The Fate pushes her way through the alien fleet and the makes a jump. The ship opens her portal directly between two alien Assault Cruisers. The Fate leapt out of the system and the gravity of the tunnel pulled the two Cruisers into each other, destroying both. The Fate was damaged by this and most of the crew was slammed around and knocked out. After three hours of traveling, the ship exits hyperspace into a massive, dense nebuale.

Flapjack: ooc/ sorry bout this being short, i still need to decide on buildings and what have you /ooc
The Voyage streaks across the sky of the desert planet and crashes next to the second largest sea on it. The ship is upright and for the most part intact. You start to check if your crew is alright and to see if you can survive on such a planet.

"Send damage controls teams down to engineering, seal that hull breach and try to get main power back on. We might have plenty of power as it is with just secondary power, but if we want some defense, we'll need the primary reactor. Also check which weapons and shield emitters and generators are salvagable, we'll be able to use the shield systems to build a shield over the colony and if we can get enough energy to the weapons, we could use them as a PDS. In addition, activate the hyperspace beacon, try to contact the other colony ships and pin-point their position."

Sensor officer: "Sir, we should have a number of geo and weather satelites in our holds, may I suggest we launch 1 of both, placing the weather sat in geo-synch orbit."

Gliding through the Tunnel a while longer. The sensor operators prepared their equipment, while the tactical man aboard the ship, walked up to Fluffie's chair, positioned central on the bridge, giving him a good look of everything. He whispered when he began talking.

"Sir... Should I bring the ships defensive system online upon arrival? We don't know what will be there.

"We are probably not match for any kind or any number of warships..."

"But we can't just give up. We can't."

"You're right, bring all defensive systems online immidiately upon arrival."

With a single and somewhat solemn nod, the tactical man returned to his post, leaving Fluffie alone as the ship left the Hyperspace Tunnel. The exit was smooth, the artistic looking Dreamer gliding out of it smoothly, just like it did so every day.

As ordered, tactical brought the defensive systems online, while the ship's sensors scanned the immidiate area. With a smile on his face, an officer looked up at Fluffie and reported.

"Captain! There is another Titanian ship, a colony ship similar to ours!"

"There are however, no locations for settlement in the immidiate area. Also no hostiles, if sensors are correct."

"Sensors say it is the Ghandi."


The captain along with the rest of the shipmates already having heard the good news of another Titanian ship here, were smiling and happy. With two ships they stood a better chance, both now in the beginning and when they would take the fight back.

But those latter thoughts, were just dreams. For now.

Laserbursts illuminated the bridge, shortly followed by a bright red glow, as the heat from the nose of the vessel became intense enough for the air to burn. Tollin got up from his seat and walked over to the sensor station. He leaned over and looked at the display, and saw the many chains of islands. He look closer at one and reached his hand to the controls to zoom in on it. He saw the island and though of it as his best chance, being one of the larger ones and being close to some lush islands for possible food supplies, as well as the expected fish. With a few key strokes he marked it on the Helmsman's plot.

"Take us in for a landing on the Island specified, prepare the crew and civilans."

"Course set."

"I'll get to the crew sir."

"We've got some very bad looking asteriods out there. This could get nasty.


"Ok then. Helm, take it as slow or fast as you need. Bring anything that can shot, online and keep those rocks away from us as best you can, were counting on you."

"Aye sir, I'm alerting the gunners.

Myles struggled hard to keep whatever control he had left of the ship, he was trying rather ineffectively to get away from the storms, the viewscreen was down, half the bridge crew was dead after an explosion that blew through the ship from the ion blasts, the chief officer was dead, that meant that Myles would have to assume the role of Captain now, he knew more about ships than even the best expert. He didn't know if the entire planet was serounded by the storm, if it was going to pass, or if it was permanent, as a matter of fact, the only thing he did know was the few damage reports he'd recieved.
Scanning systems were down, weapons and shields were offline, life support was barely standing, lighting systems were on backups, and they were in a wreck, until they got out of this storm, they knew unless they were seen or picked up on highly advanced scanners, they were unknown to the universe, just a floating piece of scrap metal.

escape: as the first projectiles fell from the sky the khar-toba finnally finished its start up sequences, as it launched into the upper atomsphere it received several hits and sustained light damage, it pushed through several waves of attackers with all weapons systems firing at anything that came within range, as it gained altitude frome the moon's suface the order was given to begin powering up the subspace drives, over the next two minutes the ship sustained moderate damage and lost the use of one main engine, as the khar-toba floundered the alien fleet began closing in for a kill, however by this time the subspace drive had been fully charged and the khar-toba dissapeared into the open portal

Flappy: OOC/ satelites run on solar power, and therefore could never sustain a laser/ OOC . The crew of the Voyage searches the wreackage. Finding just basically the ship, they decide to leave it. The ships doesn't appear to be of much use, except for a make-shift shelter. It can still fly, but it'll need repairs.

Fluffie: Your crew makes contact with the Ghandi, but you learn that neither ship knows of a valid colony planet. For now your ships should split up and search for a colonizable planet. (sorry its short).

Eath: The Horizon enters the tunnel and travels the furthest away from Titan. For five hours it travels directly away, before exiting in a bleak system. The ship drops out directly in front of a giant jungle world, acctually the planets gravity pulled the ship out. A large clearing is already visible from space, large enough for the Horizon to land safely. The Horizon's sensors start to go crazy due to the massive lifeform readings.

Wo2: The scanners of the Venturra start to go crazy as you approach the Ocean planet. From your viewports you can see no cloud cover, but you can see a lot of islands. The ship corrects its course and heads for the largest one.

Flaag: (You assumed right, sensors are blind) The Fate travels cautiously through the haze. After a short while, it exits, but you cannot see much of anything. Your viewports glow red for a second and everything gets hot for a second. You notice a shimmering coming from directly in front of the Fate. Much to your and your crew's dismay, the Fate has entered the atmosphere of an odd Twilight planet. It is moving slowly, but the ship is point straight at the ground.

Io Cor: With the crew more or less injured or dead, the Hope is pulled into the planets atmosphere. The planet looks very much like it could be similar to Earth. The Ion Storm is also gone, but your ship is still mostly offline. It is a matter of minutes until it meets the planet in a rather messy fashion.

Madcat: The Khar-Toba leaps into the tunnel and escapes from Titan. It travels for roughly 3 hours away from the moon, before exiting the tunnel. The Khar-Toba drops out on the inside edge of an asteroid belt. The ship is hit by a large asteroid and loses steering control. The Toba careens wildly through space, and it starts to slowly roll to port. The ship crashes on a Mars like rocky planet, on its side. A lot of people die in the crash, and unlike the Voyage, the ship is almost completely worthless.

Mrmao: Your crew makes contact with the Dreamer, but you learn that neither ship knows of a valid colony planet. For now your ships should split up and search for a colonizable planet. (sorry its short).

All: After the Khar-Toba and Horizon blink out of the system, the aliens lay waste to Titan. The fleet of alien cruisers and destroyers bombard the moon until it turns into an asteroid. After they are done, the alien ships withdraw and enter a large tunnel together. This tunnel leads to the Far Side of the Galaxy, the opposite direction your ships all fled in. (Anyone else who wants to join will ome from a colony planet.)

ooc/ A satelite that can sustain ground-penetrating radar and other geophysical systems has to run on a nuclear fission satelite, just like the first Earth launched satelites. It's therefore safe to assume that at least a few satelites will be equipped with high-current hydrogen cells (currently in development, they'd provide enough power to get a small laser cannon working and sustain that power for several weeks, solar power could be used to gradually recharge the cells when the laser isn't being used) Or similar high-power storage systems /ooc

"Very well, get to work on the colony hub, deploy it about 1 mile from the sea and on slightly higher ground to protect against flooding, we should have a couple of water pumps designed to pump water from sub-surface wells so convert those to use for that sea. Once the colony hub is setup and we have some scans of the immediate area, get to work on the mineral extractors and hydroponics units. With those setup and some minerals in store, set the factory units and the powerplant unit up so we can get to work on fixing this ship."

A number of nods and ayes sounded through the large bridge as several people who had just entered left again, damage control had managed to seal the hull breach in engineering in the meanwhile and suspected that while the main engines would require a large amount of work, they'd be able to get main power back up in a few days time

All: If you read my DM to Flapjack, you will know that he has 1000 colonists. Everyone else also has 1000 colonists. This thread will be losely stat based, but only so I can put order to the colonization of planets. As of now, all of your goals is to colonize the closest planet. If you do not have a planet, you will within the next DM.

Colonizing: Each colony can support a total of 5000 colonists. Planets may have between one and three colonies on them. Small planets get one, medium get two, large or giant get three. It takes RT (real time) day to establish a new colony. Days will begin in the evening EST (I do have school). After getting one colony, they will produce 100 additional colonists.

Additional Colonies: Since the ships you came in are one way, you have to use other ships to get around. These ships will all be Cruisers, capable of destroying the aliens and transporting colonists. Each cruiser can only hold 1000 colonists, and if it gets destroyed you can get another.

Aquiring Cruisers: To get a cruiser, all you have to do is stock up 500 colonists and "trade them in" for a Cruiser. Cruisers are armed with 4 Light Laser Turrets, 4 Heavy Laser Turrets, 2 Small Mass Drivers, 2 Ion Cannons, and 2 Missile Turrets.

Note: All you are trying to do currently is to colonize other planets. Oh and boost your scanners' power, you'll get a very helpful bonus.

A twilight planet is a planet that is in night most of the time due to larger planets around it, blocking the light.
In your case, the planet is shrouded in a Nebula that blocks out light but not heat. Its dark and kinda creepy, bbut it is daytime occasionally. Its one of the great mysteries

Enough of your scientific babble! Flaag would you rather that that planet BE a star instead? Your ship is too close to escape the gravity, plus you have no idea where you are. Oh and Ginge, FJ is right, you have to wait for one colony to be operational (most likely FJ's). And Flapjack, the 1000 colonists were "traded" for your colony hub. They dont count towards a cruiser.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!: You may get more then one cruiser. You get a max of one from each colony.

Flapjack: Since you just about have a colony built, and Ginge never even got the ship, the first 500 colonists you get goes to Ginge's cruiser. This should even out the field, since you have a colony and some people are still landing. BTW your desert planet is a medium planet, so you can build an additional colony.

/ooc/ stop admitting your stupidity and describe my planet already (it can be a planet, it just wouldnt last more than about 100 yrs before igniting (or colapsing into a brown dwarf, which is totally useless) and would have a high hydrogen atmosphere

Flaag: The Fate levels out and settles down on the smooth dirt of the Twilight planet. To the starboard side is a large lake of purple water, or thats how it appears. To the port side is a level plateau and beyond that a mountain. Right behind the engines is a small dropoff from the plateau. This drops to a river that runs from the mountain to the lake. An odd forest is visible in the distance directly in front of the Fate.

ooc/ hmm, so I have 1000 colonists on my colony ship (to establish a single self-sustaining contained colony would require a hell of a lot more, otherwise you'd get a load of in-breeding) I trade those in for a colony hub (mysteriously 1000 people disappear and a colony hub appears) and I now have an empty colony hub that'll mysteriously start generating population. Does anybody see the problem here? /ooc

ooc/ in that case he should have said the colony hub requires 1000 colonists to be constructed and maintained, rather then saying you exchange 1000 colonists for a colony hub. Which leaves me with another nice question, right now, we can only have a colony hub, which can only sustain 5k people. For some reason we can exchange 500 colonists for a cruiser, which will then magically be constructed without any spaceshipyards or orbital structures, after all, I didn't have any built /ooc

Flapjack: First of all, i was rushing originally when i made this thread's colonization aspect so you could play it in time without having to wait. Second and Finally, did you by any chance notice that the colony cant support anything else in any other way!? It is obviously fully self-sufficient like i said, so it HAS a starport as well as everything else a colony would require.

Io Cor: #1, your ship is obviously going to crash. #2 The cruiser is what will take you to other planets., no colony ship is ever intended to go to multiple areas.

Ginge: Where did that come from????
