Resolution Problem

Ok. I have an nVidia GeForce 7950 GX2 1GB card with latest drivers. I also have a NEC 20WGX2 20.1" widescreen monitor.

Now on my old computer, which had an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro card in, it handled my monitor's native 1680 * 1050 perfectly fine. Now on this new computer with the GeForce, this resolution is 'squished' horizontally and looks funny. The nearest 'good' resolution is 1400 * 1050 but even this is distorted horizontally by quite a bit.

I've fished around on Google and nothing so far has been of any help.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Resolution Problem

I assume you mean 20WMGX2, as I that was the only one I could find on their site.

Download the driver:
http://www.necdisplay.com/cms/docume...rs/20WMGX2.ZIP

Usually windows defaults to its native PnP driver for monitors and queries display information from the monitor.

It could be that with the new card it is unable to determine the supported resolutions, however using the manufacturers driver will ensure the display is being driven at the proper specs & resolution.
