Quite simply, could it be possible for the galaxy fund to collect a certain percentage of interest?

An interest rate would do what exactly? it would increase the amount of resources already in the fund. That would mean there is a greater incentive to donate resources in funds rather than to use it more usefully, such as in ships.

Also, it would tend to help the largest galaxies (ie, ones that tend ot have the most resources that have accumulated through trading) more than the smaller.

Unless the interest rate was increasing at a decreasing rate of course.

yeah, with the Tax it saves up resources as you trade, so it can build up nicly, so long as u have the right balance or races and sizes in ya gal,.. in mine we had alot of Metal, and i couldnt always trade C and E quick enough for the rest of the gal,.. (though i alwyas had enough Metal

What if it wasn't interest based, but a predetermined amount of res each tick, as long as a minium amount of donation was made (pretty low).

Ideally, the amount given would be pretty much negligable for the top tier galaxays and somewhat beneficial to smaller ones. It would have to start of really low at the beginning and then increase at certain intervals during the round.

This could help balance the galaxy fund for small galaxies that have many inactives and might encourage them to donate to the fund faster.

Probably not worth the coding effort like many of the ideas on this board tho =]
