Its probably intended. I asked for it in beta.
Not to mention that Jolt are in "ignore" mode when it comes to request for refund (or PA-team gave me a rotten email adress).

You can always give the account to Rabba. He only roids planets in the WP arbiter anyway.

That's a good point actually. If you're not interested in playing seriously, and you can't delete, what motivation is there to not cheat until you get deleted?

And what motivation is there to cheat at all if you're not interested in playing?

The motivation would obviously be to get deleted.

Like a delete button would remove your info from their database. You must be dreaming.

well, if it doesn't i can sue them (european data protection blabla) because a customer has the right to delete his data.
(so if i would sue them now, i could even get thru, because i informed spinner bout that like 1 week after signup and they still dun provide that [and i dun wanna discuss the legality of the user agreement in that section either, i don't really think that it conforms to european laws] ...)
but hey, its this totally new game, etc (sometimes i wonder what they did the last 3 years that they still produce such a ****ty thing in that time ...)

I know someone who started, decided he didn't like xan after about 5 ticks so started another planet. Couldn't delete the first so technically he's a cheat. He hasn't/won't go into the other account and won't pay it so it can't interact wit his main planet but - he's a cheat to the letter of the rules.

Actually, what that data protection act does is (heh, in reality this is only what I know the Finnish one does) that you have the right to request that your personal information be removed (and that the company must comply). They don't need to provide you an -easy- way to do it though (such as a button ingame). If you phone them, fax them, mail them etc. and they refuse to comply, you might have grounds to sue. They are probably entitled to request that you prove your identity also, before removing your information.
It gets hairy.

So would you all delete your acc if you could??
I paid for 4 accs, and I think I would delete the one I have, and I would advise the others I paid for to do the same, however that be not my choice.

Try this:
Sing up a new paid account and start heavily to farm one account with the other.
Quite a cunning plan from the creators: This way they will double their income from the people wanting to quit \o/
