If you could time-travel...
... could you be your own father?
Would be a crazy thought no?

I would prevent myself from ever registering on this board. Then I might actually have done some work over the last 3 years

You can be your own father legally by adopting yourself. No need for dry ice and physics boffins.

If you could time-travel you could rule the 16th century with a pocket calculator.

Somebody'd just take it from you. if they cared enough.
more to the point, there've always been those 'idiot savant' types that can multiply 100 digit numbers together in their head, and I honestly have no clue where you'd find a calculator that can do that.
(if you wanted to rule, you should go back with kevlar, a handgun, plenty of ammo and maybe a grenade or two.)

Assuming fuel and ammunition weren't an issue, I'd take an Apache.

Right.... now you're there.... in the 16th century.... with your shiny apache helicopter... loads of fuel and ammo..... AND NO ONE WHO CAN FLY IT!
(assuming you can't fly an apache)

I can vaguely remember how to fly a whirlie (good old vice city talk).
[edit]
If you're that worried, take a tank. Or a nuclear sub.

A nuclear sub?
Now this is getting silly...
What do you want to do with a nuclear sub in the middle of the 16th century? Sink fishing boats? Nuke castles? Like they ever know it's from a "nuclear sub that is floating round somewhere".
The tank would be a better plan tho...

a nuclear sub can last for a really long time without support.
that's why when the tripods came, they won everything except that one nuclear sub got away and managed to stay hidden for years iirc (then it tried to nuke a city and they found it, but the point remains).
anyway, being a nuke sub doesn't necessarily mean nuclear weapons, it could be armed with tomahawks etc. which could help you with any castles that stood in your way.

Depends on how the rules of the universe works of course. And in the universe you could, no, it wouldn't be all that crazy.
