zokum and goldeneye were some of the only ones left after they 'sacked' all the other testers a few days before the round was to start.
they then completely changed ship stats, added parallels, etc
round 4 sucked

Oi, it gave you time to consider what 'moves' you were going to make. That and the time you needed to think of something witty to post on't forums.

I liked round 4.
I liked my galaxy, and I was in a fun parallel. I have never paid any attention to the stats.

Heh. I pretty much liked all the free ones. Because then there were players ****ter than me out there. I played five and didn't like it, and I played seven and didn't like it. (Not sure if I played six, and almost postive I'm not playing now)
I would admit that 1>2>3>4, but I put all those a big step above the last four.
Parallels were 'neat'

I've got about 150 aussie dollars here, will that be enough?
On a more serious and not quite so cliche note, I wonder who would actually buy the lot. I mean the game as it is hasn't got much to offer anymore. You'd have to make some serious changes if it were to attract the hordes of players it once had. And anyway, nobody can ever, ever bring back those "good old days". Period.

Interesting
I had absolutely NOTHING to do with parallells. They came as a suprise to me as well, anyone who knows anything about PA and it's developement know that was Spinner's very own last minute change. Bugger off clueless fools.

I recall W and a few other TPE'ers making a big noise some time ago about buying the game and "Running it like it should be run".
It appears now as though that was , and remains , all talk.
Pity. That idea had some pretty good potential.

I dont think FS can expect much more than £50-100k, anything more would probably be ridiculous seeing as it's not something that is going to be ran at a profit, more probably at a loss.
Therefore investors probably wouldn't be enticed by this round's figures showing BIG losses and only real PA players would have the dedication to run it at a loss.
Soooooo.... why don't we all chip in a bit of cash, and imagine that you're buying shares in Planetarion? It's ridiculous to think that one player would buy it.. why not everyone chip in who wants to own part of it, and we then find someone ready willing and able to keep PA going for a few more rounds?
Y'all interested?

Interesting idea though not sure if it would actually work. The community being the shareholders and the creators directly answering to the shareholders.

I'm sure the new owners would want to install their own lackeys, I mean trusted friends, to moderate the forums.

The name Planetarion will not be a great selling point, you go most places on the net and say Planetarion you'll get laughed at when once it was 'Oh wow, that's new, let's go see that'.
Rebranding ahoy, scrap the name, scrap the domain, rebuild from the ashes, etc etc.

I think Leto posted about it (even if the 'winner' was himself).
But if I were you, I wouldn't take what the lemmings post very seriously (at least when talking about amounts of money).

I'd buy it and give it to Nod so he could fix the stats and actually make the Tarantula worthwhile once and for all.
Then finally his famous 'BUY ALL THE TARANTULAS YOU CAN, IT'S THE BESTESTESTESTESTEST SHIP BY FAR !!!!!!' can be laid to rest.

I find AOL to be one of the nails in the coffin of the free world.
It may be just me, but I don't think so. Everyone who likes their packets to dwell freely seems to think so.
Besides, I'm boycotting all that is american.

If I had the money I would buy the game, but I would what legal guarantees that I had the only copy of the sources.
Then I would burn them to a CD, delete all my own copies, and physically destroy the harddrive. This CD would be the only copy of PA in the entire world.
Then I would physically burn the CD and post an mpg of the event on www.planetarion.com.
