Talking Turn PA into a more skilled based game ?

Would removing the Exchange of Resources and Trade be a
Good thing or a bad thing?

thoughts ?

b) how would not relying on handouts encourage people to attack more? If they choose not to attack then that's their call
c) assuming that fuel is being returned next round? (haven't been around for a few days and haven't read up)

actually, i posted this idea to a similar thread like this.. i think itd be really cool to be able to actually deploy ur defending fleets in certain points in space, like hide them behind asteroids and space debris and stuff and be able to ambush attacking fleets and stuff like that.. and also tactically ordering your attacking fleets on precisely how to attack a target, be it left or right flanks or charge.. separate your fleets in teams, then assign team 1 and 2 to left flank and team 3 to charge, 4 and 5 right flank, etc.. if this is the idea, then i think it should be done.. also when fleets are en-route to the target, create scans where the attacker would know how the defenders fleets are placed around his planet

So defender always chooses best defensive position then, and it turns into pure luck intstead of tactics for attacker.

which brings back the old argument of the "cloaking" feature of xan ships that also supports a "luck" factor in battle - where cloaked ships cant be seen and/or not accurate on jumpgate probe scans, fleet scans are just NOT possible, and unit scans are way inaccurate - which now, directs the argument to where battles shouldnt last just one tick ---- and it goes on and on and on...

maybe this thread isnt even worth it anymore..

I think it's complicated enough now. The pour n00bs (/me look at himself) would use days and nights understanding how to play if it gets even more complicated./

pa shoudl of course require skill over activity but the ways suggested in the first post are not the right ways.
