im ill

infact im very ill....

now i am rather 'hot' to touch..meaning i have a temp.


however


i am shivering uncontrollably.


why does this happen at high body temperatures? (the shivering)

eat properly get exersise you lazy studenty type

I reccomend Juice, and lots of it, send a housemate to get juice, get them to warm up juice.

Shivering is an automatic body reaction to temperature diferences, if you have a fever the ambient tempereture 'feels' lower than it is.

Go see a Doctor and feel up a nurse.

The body increase temperature as a means to defend itself as invading pathogens multiply less well in higher temperatures (theyve evolved to best suit conditions in a host)
I would imagine the body shivers for a similar perpose.

I am also ill with similar symptoms

Run a HOT bath and stay in it as long as possible.

The shivering will generate heat, increasing body temperature above the optimum for the pathogens' metabolism (probably). you can demonstrate this principle by plunging into the sun, which will kill all the microbes.

Shivering is a means of increasing temperature (all the energy the muscles use is turned to thermal energy). The fact that you shiver when cold doesn't mean that being cold is the only reason for increasing your temperature.

I haven't been seriously ill (ie for more than 24 hours) since I started taking vitamin pills, about 3 years ago.

i usually get these symptom things once or twice every year, comes with a nasty cold, ive kinda had it already for the winter coming, just not for as long as it usually is... with me it lasts about 3 or 4 days. best way i find is to just grab as many blankets and sheets as you can, and cocoon yourself until you do actually feel warm.. and if it gets unbearavbly warm, tough shit, you gotta sweat it out or it will take longer to get better
