I haven't played r12 but i'm back for this round. After reading the stats it looks like a Xan can attack a Zik with only Fi pods and be sure to steal roids though all the pods may be lost (like in the old days) Considering the low cost of Fi pods is this a valid tactic ?

Depends on the target I suppose, but generally yes.

(At least, at the start).

Keep in mind, though, that you need more than 1 FI pod to cap a roid - i cant remember exactly how many it takes, but roids have 'armour' (for want of a better word), and pods have 'guns', and the pods can cap as many eoids as they kill, up to the limit of the Roid Cap.

its kinda strange, but it makes sense.

50 Armor to a roid.

Terran can do the same with BS and Cath can do the same with CR.

Also its all well and good sending your fi pods to attack a zik but not when hes just capped shit loads of sentinals with his cutlass and shit loads of beetles with his bucs. Hes just gonna laugh at ur silly fi fleet which will sonn be salvage and whts not will be added to his fleet

Assuming Zik is male ofc

when playing zik you have to accept 25% roid loss. Getting ships is all important you can always attack again to get your roid count back up.

ZIk still have a problem when facing Leviathans. YOu need a lot of BS stealing shippies to get those! ANd Terrans kill, they don't steal, something that really attracts me.

Actually they have the best ships.... ships that can steal others. They have progressed so far in technology. is tehre another race taht can do that? no. U guys just attack like the cavemen used to do... nothing like the Zik technology

Terrans are acutally the weakest.... even Zik kill ships are stronger...
Ziks are stronger than terrans but still use tactics instead of trying to use thier strength... thats because they have progressed furthest in technology and can steal ur ships. Its better to steal someones ships and keep them than destroying them and giving the opponent salvage.
