Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
Someone got smacked in the face and floored from what i could make out and the comments from the pundits. Quite funny really.

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
i must say this is completely without any basis in fact, as i dont know what happened (yet, i imagine it will get told to the papers in time for tomorrow) but someone how would put a bet on that lehmann had something to do with starting it, he is just the kind of person who would :/ (imo ofc)

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
the argentinian choice of subs was a tad odd, the game was balanced overall, i thought argentina would win on penalties but credit where its scarely due those kicks were simply awesome.

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
saviola should have been on from the start, messi should have been on in the second half to run at the germans, no question about it

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
I just saw footage of maxi rodrigues running through some people then jumping and hitting sweinsteiger in the back. That was after the fight had allreayd started though so don't have clue what started it, but the argentinians seemed to be pretty pissed of at mertesacker...

Nah, lehmann was walking off the pitch at the time it happened. The cameras were on him and he did nothing.

Oliver Bierhoff seemed to be the cause of it from what I could tell, he was the one Gabby was trying to get to and later you saw Gabby giving him an earful

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
I could be wrong, but i thought i saw a 'sieg heil' from lucas podolski. Rubbish game, great penalties, great fight, good but not worldbeating team in the semis.
Lolling at argentina not using either messi or saviola though

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
i think that germany could be world beating at this world cup now tbh, italy in the semis then brazil or us (lol) in the final, with brazil not on top form :/ i could see them winning it, ballack will be a blow if he cant get fit though (although that playmaker that they brought on, cant remember the name, think it began with P did really well)

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
I think they are a very well organised team with a few players on the cusp of world class - klose, ballack, lehmann - and some players to watch out for - podolski, frings, lahm - but nothing that instantly hits you in the face and goes "omg fukkkk uuuuu".
Basically, they are the same old germany theyve always been! So much for this Klinsmann's new regime (am i reich?)

it was his left hand and i think he was waving at the crowd or saluting, it just looked odd from the sudden edit in. It did make me lol though.

If that's true, it would be hilarious. Polish born player upsets Argentinian's (of all people) with fascist salute....

Frings impressed me and Ballack did also very well today.

tbh i think Germany will have a very hard time to even survive the 1st round, regardless how shit their opponents are.
why you chose for (two!) German defenders is a complete riddle to me, when realising how shit their defense is. a clean sheet = points in that game you know.
but maybe this is Irish logic.

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
I have a sick feeling that we'll lose to Germany 4-2 in the final.
In extra time.
Some kind of great justice at work or something

Re: [Football] Germany V Argentina
apparently Borowski told the argentinians to be quit after he made the 4:2 (they were booing the german players or something like that) One of the players of Argentina mistook Mertesacker for Borowski and attacked him. Bierhoff wanted to stop him, so they attacked him.
Other than that, pretty dramatic (if not overly beautiful) game, after the first half I thought we wouldn't stand much of a chance. people went completly nuts afterwards.
