Tea
I don't quite understand how you British manage to drink so much tea. But anyway, since I want to cut back on the coffee, the next best (affordable) alternative is tea , have to learn to drink it.
So, suggest your nice tea!!!

It's not having the same effect anymore...
I can drink all the coffee I want, I'm feeling tired all day.

Re: Tea
Well, as somebody said, Chinese tea is the best ever!
And, teabags are a evil that should be avoided! Of course, if you don't have a alternative, you should still use them, but if you can avoid it, "real" tea is often better.
Green tea is best. And, it's healthy too!
I only use sugar when im sick, but beside that, nothing ever touches my tea!

That's silly... they eat sausages in Germany, and baguettes in France. Poland is just shit and they prolly don't have much other to eat than dirt.
And you British are known for your tea fetish.
Personally I am (was?) not a big fan of tea, but I need an alternative to coffee. So, nothing better than poking you British for a few suggestions.

Perhaps more sleep would be in order?
If you're looking to increase your caffeine consumption then tea might not be your best choice. A cup of tea has anywhere from about a half (black teas) to about a third (green teas) as much caffeine as a cup of coffee; meaning to you have drink 2-3 times a much for the same amount of caffeine. That said, some people can drink a lot more tea than coffee, so it still might work for you.
If you're looking to substantially reduce or eliminate your caffeine consumption, then perhaps an herbal tea would be the ticket.

Not actually true, well only to the extent that too much of anything is bad for you.
And despite misconceptions Tea does contain caffeine and derivatives thereof.

Who in this thread was implying there isn't caffeine in tea?
Never heard of anyone who had such a misconception.
And it is bad for you, and there is a lot of documentation about it...

that's true, but the most common argument I hear for tea over coffee is because it doesn't have all that nasty caffeine and stuff in it.... it was more a pre-emptive strike than a correction.
Quote:

..so point me to said documentation. For every bit of documentation against caffeine I have found at least a dozen pro caffeine to match including valid dismissals of the against.
I would not drink something I did not trust implicitly and had not done my research on.
Caffeine like most substances is only dangerous in over consumption, and to reach the lethal dose requires a hell of a lot of consumption dependant on body weight. The only way I can see it's possible is through some concentrated form like tablets and such, even then it's pretty damned high.
Then there are also the sleep supression side-effects which if allowed to build up over time can cause problems with the body's sleeping cycle which can be avoided by consuming in moderation.
The thing is though I could apply the above to just about any other common and popularily consumed substance.

There are an enormous number of varieties of leaf, and that's not even counting things like herbal tea, which are another kettle of tea altogether.

Exactly, in moderation it is fine.
Any consumed substance? True, too much of anything is not a good thing for the body, but caffeine can clearly mess with your body more than carrots, potatoes, water, etc. etc. etc. Especially if you go to a medical website and read the list of the side affects the drug can be attributed to.
