What does "pld" stand for?
Need some little 1337-speek // inet-slang help here... Can't work out what "pld" means...
And what about "ta"? Is it short for thx / thank you? I know "ta ta" means good bye, right?
TIA [yeah, I do know some of them \o/]

Re: What does "pld" stand for?
pld = Played (short for "Well Played")
ta means Thank You, yes. It's not a l33t thing though, in the UK people often use "ta" as thanks. Especially children I guess.

I prefer "cheers" myself.
Ta is a little too common.

Re: What does "pld" stand for?
I generally say "Cheers" too, but sometimes I can only be bothered to summon the energy to say "ta". Usually I say the latter when I'm given something (e.g. passed a drink by someone)

Re: What does "pld" stand for?
Saying "cheers" amused me when I was in California.
The American's didn't seem to know what the **** I was on about.
The girls thought it was cute.

The longhand version that scared the hordes of unl33t people who used it was:
'Please Lick Dick'

Re: What does "pld" stand for?
sometimes I say "yo" as a thank you
I am an almost 28 year old demotivated moron who have spend 75% of his life playing videogames and thus missed out on a lot of childhood fun and who have been forced into social interaction as at a certain age you are suposed to start making money which most of the time implies social interaction.

Re: What does "pld" stand for?
I say "ta" with family and friends (eg when they hand you a drink) , but "thankyou" for strangers (eg getting your change after buying a drink).
saying "cheers" is on a par with typing "lol", something I just can't do. Never have, never will...
