anyone have transcripts from the other day?
Here's the story.
I was watching, and they did this bit about how some different news organizations had been accidentally getting their news from The Onion, which they claimed was not a real news source. They first cited when the time when that Chinese newspaper reported that congress was holding out for a retractable dome (one of the funniest stories ever told), and then mentioned how recently MSNBC picked up the story about how half of all exercise in the US is now being performed on infomercials. Not great, but all right.
It was either the next story or a minute or so later that they reported about how Donald Rumsfeld was looking forward to Secretary's day. A quote from Rumsfeld the anchor read went something like I know it's just a silly Hallmark holiday. Even so, I have to admit that seeing that bouquet of flowers on my desk... Well, it makes me feel real good." And they went on to say that he didn't expect any special treatment.
It just caught me a few minutes ago.
yeah.
Was that intentional, or the funniest screwup ever? April Fools was weeks ago.
