POSSIBLY
THE
BEST

Huge endless fun, big battles, backstabbing, and whatnot! I even stole 300 roids in one attack from the winning galaxy
Amazing game really, all those who didnt play, well, heh, YOUR LOSS!

I played as random (for 3-4 hours)
that wasn't fun at all really, except when I stole 800 roids whilst the universe were sleeping
Congratz Krush, for winning the thing

Re: To anyone and everyone, Speedgame #2
yes was a good game
21:00 - 23:00, we were attacking and not getting much retals so just increasing roid leads
just after 23:00 ~10-15 gals decided to launch on us (1:8, 3rd ranked gal) which hurt a bit, well done to every1 involved in that appeared to be about even in score loses, but you took a lot of roids
(btw, we got info at pt802 that you were going to launch @ pt 810, should have been more prepared really )
when things calmed down a bit we got back into attacking regularly, although u kept sending little 'annoyance' fleets at random planets, which on the whole just slowed attacking. Where you just building to send at us then ??
Continued till about 03/04 when I slept till 07:00 made me miss 2:5's title grab attempt
Have to thank 4:6:4. as in the final ticks got couple of waves through that took me back to about my pre-'revolution' roid count
Stifler
GC of 1:8
[edit: number of revolution gals was wrong, to little Thanks Aki]

No No No !!!!
Rank #3 is the hardest to get you all know that
Was a great game indeed! Though the decission that we (as in Ely) where winning was a bit to early in the round, would have been even nicer to keep it closer together.
For the rest... what Stifler said (cant speak against my GC )
Congrats to 2:8 for winning and 2:5 for being runner up, great job!

Re: To anyone and everyone, Speedgame #2
Even I, being very sceptical about the PAX changes and not even really liking the last normal pre-PAX rounds that much, enjoied this speedgame a lot. Congratulations, Spinner and the rest of the PA dudes, the game you created/relaunched can actually be quite fun, though i guess a large part of the fun came from there also being many free planets/casual players around.
A pitty though that the good old Legion/Fury effect (people not attacking the strongest alliance early on for fear they could be hit back, named after what happened in round 3) still exists... quite early in the game i wanted to have my galaxy first kill 2:5`s ships and then take the roids (2:5 was pretty fat), but then we were warned that you are part of 4 sister galaxies (was only 3 in the end?) and we had noone that wanted to help in rescueing those roids from you and your sister galaxies :-(
Congrats to the winners and to those that fought against them till the end :-)

It was a great game, despite being turned into Ely's personal roid source. Mental note: Always build more anti-Bs defense

Re: To anyone and everyone, Speedgame #2
I was biggest in salomo's gal (6:1:10) and really enjoyed the round. We started off well though built ships when everyone was still scanning. were workin with 1:3 and we had both of our gals in top 10 for half or round. A few successful attacks on 5:1 and 1:1 were about highlights, but as night went on our running batle with 2 5 ended up in most of gal suicidin at 2 5 5 but all to no avail. i played on, tryin to help james and alch's 'revolution' of a few other top gals tryin to fight the ely block, but at 650 roids, 160k score and my galmates all mostly with no fleets it became clear 6 1 was finished. Enjoyed it plenty though, and i will actually play next weekends too it was that fun

Re: To anyone and everyone, Speedgame #2
It was alot of fun for sure, next time I'll make sure to fix a gal earlier than 5mins before the ticks start We had to exile 4 ppl and get 4 new ppl to signup as replacements after we had played for a couple of hours, and we still managed to finish 5th. With a little better coordination from the start it would've been a closer in the end but atleast we managed to ruin 2:5's chances of winning
Oh and to 2:5, it's not nice to break naps when I'm asleep
Greetings from all of 4:6(:7)

Re: To anyone and everyone, Speedgame #2
I must say I enjoyed it emmensly, even though it was disappointing to win. Well done to Krush and co for winning the round, and thanks to him for not repeatedly flouncing NAPs, a major contributor to their victory.
Thanks to all those in G1 who trusted my judgement and leadership and filled raid after raid that I threw at them, thanks to the MISTU galaxy, 4:7, who fought gallantly to finish top non-Elysium galaxy and especially thanks to adastra who partnered me on target after target, kept me motivated through the night and showed me how to enjoy speed games.

Actually, we thought 4:6, 4:7 and 4:8 were all working together.
But, I knew suave was in 4:6, and especially when he offered us a NAP, I argued for taking it. We could have then roided 4:8 for all they were worth (no offense, you guys were a smallish galaxy with decent roids, so... ), and then move on to 4:7. Which would put 4:6 in the position of either backstabbing us (which we could then use as an excuse to flatten you all with our allied galaxies), or being left as our ally, as they'd have no one else to cooperate with. I figured that'd give us the roids and growth needed to oppose the Ely block, if not add another galaxy to our cooperation.
Unfortunately, these plans all went to bollocks because the [Vision] people in our galaxies were for some reason more interested in twatting 3:10, 1:8, 2:8, 2:5 and 5:1, pretty much all at the same time to boot. Despite most of them being our size or bigger. The GC of my galaxy didn't even want the 4:6 NAP, because he "didn't like them" (NAP's, not the 4:6 galaxy), despite the fact we weren't interested in twatting 4:6, and thus a NAP would've only benefitted us.

Noone's really sure where this 'nap' came from, noone in our gal seemed to have heard of it. Possible it's something Krush arranged on our behalf, there was a few like that and they only meant anything to the extent that he was target picking for most of Ely's attacks. Put it down to 2:8-diplomacy I guess, regardless you shouldn't go to sleep leaving only 200 Vesuvius guarding 2.3k roids
Regarding the 'backstabbing' we gave 2:8 at the end, the intention wasn't nearly as vicous as some people thought. To be sure we wanted the top spot but the plotting didn't get beyond outgrowing and outnaping 2:8. By 7am that plan had failed and the universe was stripped bare, with the only worthwhile targets in the 3 Ely gals. Rather than sitting on our asses for 3 hours we wanted some action. 2:8 must have been at least as bored, their roid count didn't move in hours so we felt we owed them some fun. Idealy 1:8 and 2:5 would have had a friendly scrap with 2:8 and the rest of the universe would have taken some of our roids in the confusion. We would have given 2:8 fair notice, and stopped if Ely ever looked likely to lose it's 1-2-3 grip on the universe. Unfortunately not enough were awake to form a decent opposition. By 9am I couldn't stand the nonaction any longer (build wave amp, trade E for M, build ships, yawn, repeat) so me and Mad_Matte took a suicidal run at some of 2:8's roids, with a couple more people following over the next hour. There was zero danger of them losing the win, and we fully expected to get crushed for our troubles (infact Matte did, tho I'm still not sure how). We got away with 3k roids, a mil or two of their score, and even apparently had them worried for a while but it was all harmless fun in the end (isn't that what PA's about). So I hope there's no lasting bad-blood between us. For the record, I'd have expected nothing less (actually a lot more) if the situation was reversed, a victory that's fought hard for to the last is always sweeter.
Anyway, this was the most fun speedround I've ever played (actually the only but ssh... I'll be playing more). Despite the nonaction near the end the first ~16 hours was madness. I'm in two minds about the 24 hour format. It seems the only fair way to include Aussies etc... but many more players than I expected went to sleep, making the final hours a bit of an anti-climax. The non-European players still had the disadvantage because the most exciting bit of the game (the first bit) happened during their night-time.
Btw, thanks to Spinner for adding that cool launches page ( http://jpaweb01.planetarion.com/launches.pl), I'm all in favour of more stuff like that

I'm not sure either, I'd have to ask James. But at around 05.00 after we had taken quite alot of 2:5's roids it became pretty clear that we didn't have a chance at taking you out and would just get bashed in the end . Then James said that aslong as we didn't attack Ely, Ely wouldn't attack us. Now I was quite tired already so I took the chance to goto bed . Seing as I was such a fat target I shouldn't have expected anything else but I still ended 20th so I'm not too worried (although I would probably have ended around 10th if I hadn't been attacked )
