The Idiot Voter Scenario

Sometimes I worry because of things like this.

Today's idiot voter is 19 years old and male, let's call him Trevor. He quit school at 15, he doesn't know what the word 'constituency' means, and hasn't got a clue about politics generally.

Our man has got a job in a record shop, a job he got through his brother, and he lives at home with his parents and has got few real expences. Mostly he buys beer and does a little drugs to get a little excitement.

Although he isn't very smart, this he realizes: Of my wages I pay taxes. If I didn't pay these taxes I could buy more beer and do more drugs.

Today is election day, something Trevor accidentally finds out from looking at a poster which has got a bottle of beer printed on it. The poster also reads: "Give your vote to the RacistNaziWifebeater Party! We will remove all taxes!"

Trevor sees the text which says 'remove all taxes', and instantly thinks it's a good idea. Who needs taxes?

He goes home to his mother and she helps him give his vote.

The RNW Party, when in power, doesn't lower taxes. Trevor is a bit dissapointed, but won't vote for anothing party at the next election, because none of the other parties promise to lower taxes.

This has become too long, but what I intend to say is that we should be governed by aliens or somthing because I do not have much faith in man.

Hi there, sir.

Yes, I just managed to wriggle loose from the chains. Actually I expect to spend more time here for a while now.

Nice to see that you're still alive.

i think voters should be interrogated before they can vote to find out if they're too thick for democracy.
