How do tournaments actualy work? When theres a '$10 buy in' does that mean that everyone starts with $10 and you cant bring any more money to the table, or does it just mean that that's the minimum amount you have to sit down with, like in normal games?

Basically if a tournament costs $10 to enter, does that mean that you won't spend more than $10 throughout the whole thing, and neither will anyone else?

Yes, you buy in $10 and that's it.

You're given 1500 chips (or whatever) and that's it for that particular table. You keep going until everyone else is out from that table.

It's an elimination process dude.

Some tournaments allow you limited buy ins up to a certain point tho most dont.

The blinds go up as time goes on and people drop out to make people carry on betting.

OK i entered the 12:00 free roll tournament today and finished 1006th.

I made a silly mistake and got punished so "go figure".

I entered the 14:00 free roll tournament today and finished 18th.

I was 2nd top chip leader for a long time then i went kinda crazy and lost half of my 200k stack 2 hands out of 3 dealt.

I finished 18th tho so HELLO $10.
