GD Meet II #1
Sup guys.
As the last GD Meet was such a roaring success (and if you didn't come you're just a LESSER member of these forums), I think it's time we made some sort of provisional plans to organise a new one.
The main two things to organise are:
-Location
-Time
Last time it was all in London, which seemed to work very well. The accommodation wasn't too expensive (about £20-25 per night, so £50 for the weekend) in hostels, and there was plenty to do.
Now we have more GDers in London, it seems the logical place to meet. Unless anyone has any problems with that? (and no pig, we aren't going to ****ing birmingham )
The dates are the most important. A load of you have exams at school/university, which would influence it. If we'd be expecting people from abroad (which would be good) then we need to give them time to book flights etc.

Re: GD Meet II #1
I voted May purely based on Phil's post, in all honesty I don't actually care where or when it is.
Although it will be London.

July for me. All exams will have finished for us uni students by then, and it should be nice weather too.

Is there any way of changing the poll so we can see who voted which option?

Re: GD Meet II #1
Personally I think Manchester would be a good venue (back me up deepflow and nick)
date wise I have no real preference but I reckon I'll be away for 2 weeks in July and it's the world cup in June...
BTW - How come the Croydon and Film meets aren't being counted as "official" meets? (all ones before last year are null and void as I didn't go)

Re: GD Meet II #1
not voting due to probable inability to go no matter when it is
and you know, having them in london all the time is a bit shit, just mean you lot that are already down there pay less than anyone else to go, which isnt very fair

Re: GD Meet II #1
but we have to live in the south and pay more than you shut your trap!
it costs £40 to fly down from newcastle with easyjet, i dunno how close that is to you but either way its cheaper than ggetting a train
so now you must come

The film wasn't a GD meet, some members of GD were simply invited to the event.
Croydon was a good contender though. I support this as being an official meet.

Re: GD Meet II #1
I voted, June although July is fine too. I would suggest either London, Newcastle or Manchester. Since brum isnt allowed ;/. But imo it should be London easiest and cheapest for everyone to get too, plus it was a roaring success last time.

I'd suggest avoiding Newcastle. It's a good night out, but it's not the best place to go if you're not a fan of fighting.

I want to vote for two.
Either June or August.
I'm going abroad in July (Middle East, Germany & France).

If you're doing the meet sometime during summer and the date is sorted out a couple of months beforehand I'll pop by if I'm welcome
Ryanair Tickets are next to free if you buy them early enough

I voted august, mostly because its furthest away and will be lovely an sunny.
Also it will be easier to work it into staying with my folks for a week or two.

No, not after I've started it
Although thankfully green spit told us which way he voted so we can ignore him that way.

Re: GD Meet II #1
Bumping just to say that TK won't be responsible for organising this GD Meet. Cancer has taken its toll.
P.S. He's doing pretty bleeding well when me and pig went to see him. They gave him his own room when there are about 7 old age people dying in the hall/ward. The only thing he's worried about is losing his hair everywhere... even down there.
Oh wait, this should be posted in the other thread...
EDIT: One month since he made the thread.....

he asked me to take over.
frankly i don't think i'll need to.
the minute he's an out patient from friday he's going to have a lot of time on his hands and he is allowed to drink while on chemo (if, indeed, he is still on it by the meet, which isn't clear).
