ice
4 miles, 5 hours. while going along in a faster area, a bus crashed into a car behind us at about 3mph because neither could brake.
BAD

Re: ice
perhaps it's a 'canadian' term or something
means a car hit it on the side head-on.
like when a car goes through a red light and gets hit by a car who had a green.

Re: ice
I had to wait an hour for a bus today (they're meant to be every 15 minutes). Then, when it came, the traffic at uni was so bad that it took 25minutes to get from the bus-stop, to being off-campus, which is literally (and i really am not exagerating) about 50m away. Then, it took over an hour to do the journey that normally takes about 10 minutes, so many roundabouts that were just completely blocked. Idiots.
Then i had to "skate" home from the bus-stop

I've got a half-mile long hill to walk up today to get to uni \o/ \o/ \o/
I lovet his time of year, it makes ordinary things like walking to work or uni so much more exciting!

Re: ice
The ONLY main road to aber had snow and ice on it last night. After going down the Mountain road for 1hr 1/2 to view its loveyness in the snow i expected the A44 to actually be gritted and clear. But oh no.....It had snow etc. Although the worst part (thankgod i wasnt doing my usual speed and was in traffic) was at a roundabout at the bottom of a small incline.
Basically the breaks didnt work. I came rather close to just sliding into the back of another car due to the ice.....pulling away was also most fun....
it was very pretty tho.
