Planetarion Forums - When will the name changing and the shuffle be ?

Will we be able to change planet/rulernamer from the moment the signups start ? (this evening ??). I hope that from that time untill the shuffle time we cannot see into the game itself to determine the new names for locating of our renamed planets.

The shuffle should be as late as possible before the ticks start or if there is protection phase somewhere during that phase. This will allow new signups to be spread nicely across the universe. An early pre-tick shuffle will drop all late signups in the lowly clusters.

Or they could let people see in with the universe as it was pre-shuffle round 9, and let them change their names in preferences - but not show the new names until after shuffle, that way tracking is impossible, people get to see into the game (which they like to), and minimum time is needed to sort shuffle etc.

The original announcement said we would all be given random names, which we can change in preferences.

The universe is shuffled, everyone HAS random names. e.g. ruler_1_1_1 of planet_1_1_1. And yes, afaik, name changing will be enabled as soon as the game opens.

But if the universe is already shuffled that would put all new players in the low clusters which is not what you'd want. They would be annihilated if they were all put together in the lowbie clusters.

You should read the new announcement, there will be 25 people gals, 10 of those played r9 already and rest gets filled with new sign ups from what I understood.

Not really, 1,5 planets will not be enough to provide places for the average number of support planets people will startup now.

New players will be added into slots 11-25 of the galaxies that you'll find when you login.

IF you were playing r9 then you do not need to signup again. Just use your r9 login details and go to your preferences screen to change your race and planet/ruler name if you so desire.

by not diong a new shuffle, isnt it a BIG chance that some people make LOADS of accs, and after 72 ticks they just stay in the gal that seems best?

If you locate the new players at the places from 11-25 in each gal only, everybody will know where to find and target them.
So there really should be a new shuffle, or if you want to have 10 old and 15 new players per gal, at least shuffle them in gal.

why is the gals filling up so unevenly??

could end up with some 18 man gals, and some 25 man gals :I

Seems like the Creators have it pretty much sorted the only problem that I actually see here is that what happens to the accounts of the people who played r9 and DON'T want to play r9.5, this basically means that many galaxies will have inactive gal m8s thus being stupid. E.g. ToT announced they wouldn't be 'playing seriously' and some members are taking this time out to rest for r10.

Is there a solution for this, they can set up the automatic inactives deletion but this will suck for the first of the round.
