Hi all,

Well, it's a bit hard for me to tell you that I am quitting PA. My decision is not opened for a discussion and I don't want to argue about it, it is a fact I quit playing PA.
I have many PMs asking me the reason why I am quitting. There is not one reason but many.

I am playing PA since the end of r1. Since that time I do appreciate much PA for its community. I have a lot of good friends here. I know that by stopping PA I will join irc less and less and one day I won't join anymore. I will miss you all.
I won't make my PA resume here, but the ones who know me can tell you that I never give up. So why did I leave?
The first reason is that one more time I feel backstabbed. This is my feeling and some bitter ones will feel the need to comment. But once more it is my opinion, maybe I am wrong, maybe not. If youwant to comment, then do it in another place...
Some will tell that it is part of the game. But I am not that kind of person. My motto "Homour and Loyalty" is not only a motto but it is also a way of life. It was the name of my r6 gal (28:11 #1 for one month) and it became the motto of Titans because we have never given up and even if we were in the loosing side we kept on being loyal to Titans. Behind every actions there is a message. During r6 I this message was "We are loyal to our alliance whatever maybe the cost". During r7 my galaxy (17:6 onther topgal) has being attacked by Fury our allies since the very start of Titans. This made some of my best friends leave PA (hi valy, Occultus, Aequitas, mastercaster and many others) some others of my friends left PA for some other reasons (RIP Reameny). My message for r8, my motivation was to attack Fury to tell them "ok guy, you see one can win without backstabbing". It has been a hard fight, you in Fury, FAnG, Adelante did pretty good. But we won and I had the impression that my message has been recieved and understood lound and clear. At this point of my PA history, the whole command staff in Titans left PA +30% of the members... Same for LDK, all my allies were disbanding, argh! I had a lot to do at work and a lot of people allianceless waiting for something new. Desse, Rehs and me decided to create the Olympians (the ones who replaced the Titans in the greek myth.). About 25 players were joining us in the beginning, no LDK, nobody but 25 players then 50 players. Our only aim was to keep our community alive and by extention PA. Then, we had to choose our allies. We created VOM. VOM is not the first alliance of the round, far from to be in fact. WP/Ely as always existed. Moreover all the HCs of all the alliances were looking for an alliance with us. If you concider VOM as the evil powerblocking group of people then it means that you are completely out of the loop. We decide to not ally with the "big" alliances like WP/Ely. We have refused Eclipse Tot and some others that were asking us for an alliance. Virus that lost 150 members during the in between round and MadCows was a good choice for us. We decided to not mix our gals with the other blocks. That way our only way to survive is to be active all the time (we are not fence sitters). Then WP/Ely/Sapientia decided to ally Eclipse/ToT, SWEET is born. Considering our size and our motivation, we allied with Vision and ministry (We are now about 350/400 members). In the meantime, NoS Auld and RaH are allying, Zenith/fang and VORTEX are some other blocks. Everything is fine. With such a configuration, 5 blocks all fighting each others, r9 promised to be a really funny round. I have warned many people before the round starts that I would not play in an unbalanced universe. They have found a way to make me play that is to lie on their true intentions. All the blocks stood a chance. But pretending that NAR was about to ally with VVOMM (just a reminder, RaH wants Virus dead so its just lol) SWEET decided to have a secret agreement with NAR. They will tell that it is not an alliance, they are just sharing all the galaxie, cluster and para-cluster channels... Now I have been told by a HC in SWEETNAR that a bit more than 35% of the universe is a target for their block. VVOMM is now about 15% of the PA universe, we are owning 30% of the top ranking players and galaxies (at least it was the case yesterday evening before that our servers are mysteriously ddossed for 12h in a row). We have not lost any war yet (not the yet because I know that you are doing pretty good and I am not blind), nothing is done but nothing has to be done because you guys in SWEET are not men of their words. All I wanted was to give PA a chance to have a funny round. I didnt not expect to win or to loose but at the very end of the round. I have paid fo 80 accounts this round. It is about 2% of the PA players who are playing thanks to me. It was the only way to make them play and I dont expect any of them to pay me back. I have create olympians, created an alliance (not that elite) and make more and more people to play PA just in the hope of having a funny round. But some people have decided other way. They have decided to win at all cost ruining the round for all. Thank you very much you selfish guys.
Appart of being backstabbed, I have some other reasons for leaving:
I know all the rules and tricks there is no mystery hence no much fun in it for me anymore, the only reason to play was to make the other happy.
I don't enjoy much to get up at 3am. Yes I am getting old, I know.
I have a job I like and my deadlines are very short so I have to be at work 70h+ a week and I can't do both Pa nd my work correctly.
I have a real life (yes it's true) and I don't fancy to die in front of a computer.

I had a dream of a better PA in a funny universe, too bad for PA my drean wont come true...

Its funny to see everyone react on the fact that Web is leaving, but instead it would be more funny to see what they have to see about this 60-70% of the universe PA block. And beiing napped gets a whole new dimention this round It inclused joined rooms, shared intel etc. nice nice

A lot of us wanted a fun round in round 8, at then the final round of Planetarion. If there was ever a case for alliances going solo and working alone for fun, it was round 8.

But no, you didn't (again, not you personally, your alliance), you went with a damn effective partner, forcing others to ally.

I DO wish you good luck in leaving the game, it's a life sucking affair, but that doesn't justify trying to appear the victim.

Sure tits|ldk|V had some more members last round than its opponents, but not the 2,5-3:1 ratio we see this round

Do I need to remind you that 28:11 was on both the FoS and Xeta arbiters at one point? Whilst also telling both sides that you wished to attack the other, ofc. The details are rather hazy, but I seem to remember your galaxy leading a group which included Killmark's galaxy and one of the c10 galaxies (I forget which, I think it was 10:9). This group was actively seeking NAPs with both sides.

As to the rest of the post, I think that the blocking situation that exists atm was rather inevitable with private galaxies. Once VoM was formed, a stronger block had to be formed, this lead to more alliances being added to VoM and so on... it was an arms race, both sides participated in it, and your side ran out of friends first. There's no sense in crying about it now, about how the evil bad guys have ruined your round. Everyone has participated in creating the current political situation, and you know it.

Having said all of that, I've nothing against you personally and I think you did a lot of good work as Titans and Olympians HC, and I wish you the best in rl.

No Petru, FAnG and Adelante were allied way before Titans and LDK had decided on anything. We had discussed the possibility but by no means had we decided on it. FAnG even asked us to join them and Adelante to make a trio.

Bon bien sûr je suis super triste que tu partes stéphane. C'est dommage pcq après les rounds 5 et 7 qu'on a passé tout les 2 et ki n'ont pas été vraiment excellent j'espérais de tout mon coeur et j'allais tout faire pour, qu'on aurait enfin un excellent round tout les 2 dans la meme galaxy.
C'est con parceque tu m'as appris a jouer a planetarion, tu m'as fait connaitre les gens k'il faut connaitre,tu m'as recruiter chez Oly sans rien me demander de plus que si je voulais venir ou pas, pareil pour Titans avant d'ailleurs. Tu m'as toujours fait confiance et je t'ai toujours fait confiance.
Mon meilleur round, on était dans 2 coté différents et tu m'as qd meme sauvé la peau et m'a permis de faire mon meilleur round. C'est un peu comme si je me rretrouvais tout nu là.
En plus de tout ce qui se rapporte directement a planetarion, je dois dire que tu es surement mon meilleur pote preske trentenaire en vrai aussi. Ca fait assez longtemps qu'on avait pas eu de grandes discutions tout les 2 comme avant mais bon, tu m'as beaucoup appris sur plin de chose, je me suis pas mal inkiété pour toi aussi quand tu as été malade ou que tu croulais sous le travil. J'espere que tu reviendras nous voire au moins une fois par semaine, et qu'on pourra toujours papoter tout les 2.
Je me sens un peu abandonné là mais bon, I won't give up the fight, et je vais tout faire pour que notre galaxy, car ça reste qd meme la tienne, finisse le round le mieux possible.
Planetarion sans toi va etre vachement triste quand meme.
JE TE REMERCIE AU NOM DE TOUTES LES FROGS DE L'UNIVERS.

One little word to NARSWEET......you can say whatever you want, you blocked the univers and killed the game......I talked about blocks and so with Webby lot of times before round and he never wanted the game to be blocked that way...you did it, now you can "kill" us, this will be the most ashamed victory ever in planetarion......nice to you.

I'm sorry you're going to miss your friends, etc. but I have no sympathy for the reason you are quitting. So you won't own. Who cares? This game is all about chatting with friends. I'm surprised that you havent caught on in 9 rounds that the little numbers describing your planet are irrelevant in the long run.

I find that I have more fun when I am running a crap planet than a big one, and I personaly think that r8 (which I think I ended with about 2 million score) was one of the most fun rounds I ever had.

I said this to someone else that got backstabbed this round.

Attack like mad. Enjoy the fact that you are taking rocks (which is all about you), and don't worry if you can't keep the rocks (which is all about a bunch of mindless circlejerking on IRC)

I can never understand people that quit playing a game because they have lost their chance to be #1, and "teh 0wn".

With that kind of attitude, people would never play any games at all, and quit the first time they lost anything.

I think I'm going to quit snowboarding, photography, guitar, chess, and racing go karts. Why bother. I mean, if I can't be better than Gigi Ruf, Mario Testino, Segovia, Garry Kasparov and Michael Schumacher, then why even bother?

Yes, I think I have.

WA had some agreements with some people, and got backstabbed, and more than likely will not do well. Being betrayed sucks, but thats the only way you can possibly find out who you trust, and you're better off knowing than not.

The point I was making is that it is not necessary to do well in this game to have fun - you have more fun talking to your friends than any other aspect of the game, bar none.

Would you trade the funny conversations in your ally/gal/french room for #1 gal, #1 planet?
