You are right with that statement, but picking Parra's dreamgal as example, is the worst example you could get, as he specifically did not pick them for that reason, but picked them for their skills and teamwork abilities. ParraCida is certainly not ignorant.

I would say as someone who in previous rounds, hasn't hung with the notorious players, that my choice of 10 players would have to be based on those I have played alongside and though I doubt this far into the thread that anyone could give a rat's ass what my 9 (other than myself) choices would be.. they are:

• Grog: good diplomat, tactically aware and very active
• Troll: active player, power-hungry canadian
• Peu: random that joined my R6 gal and surprised us all with his activitity, selflessness and dedication
• Tesla: (when not in the army).. makes me laugh and always manages to draw the entire fleets of Ministry for defence when attacked.
• Buzzer: my MoW in r8 - quiet in IRC but highly active and very good attacking player until he slept in near the end of the round.
• Euphoric: GC in r8, member of Plush, weird sense of humour but a good leader.
• Werewolf: like most Fins, drives me nuts half the time but a good person to have in your gal or alliance due to his drive and ambition.
• Lynne: good at handling galaxy politics within clusters and parallels. She also makes good coffee and if i left her out, she'd crush my b****ks
• Iceaxe: was in my R4 gal (when i did nothing) and always seems to do quite well.

All in all, a good mix of players from Europe and North America (sadly no Aussies) - we perhaps wouldn;t come #1 but the team would do well and we'd have fun while doing it.
